Aren't the alternator from a /4 the same as what's used on say a '77 2.7 engine..I need to source one in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions?

Dennis Aase seems to have a good handle on rebuilt internal-regulator alternators - ck the latest Excellence.

That would be Dave, I think, not Dennis. Dave has VERY nice new ones. Made in OZ. The Cap'n

The reason I ask is because when I search Porsche alts on ebay I get alot of "1965-'77,2.0-2.7L" but I guess that assumes a 6 cylinder 2.0..which is what I'll be needing, just thought I might be able to get a better deal on a 914/4 unit..thanks!
