914World.com _ 914World Garage _ plastic fuel filters - how horizontal can they be installed

Posted by: jimkelly Aug 8 2015, 08:48 AM

I need to add another BEFORE my fuel pump and was wondering. my tank has rust and is glogging filters pretty fast but I expect this will subside soon. but till then, I will replace filters frequently. I got a few G15 fram filters on order as well as the fram G3 I already have in my car.

The mounting angle of the filter should not matter.

They must be mounted exactly 23.5 degrees from horizontal with the pressure side being the lower side. Or what Mike said. biggrin.gif

That looks like a low-pressure carb-oriented filter. Don't use that for high-pressure fuel injection. It's fine if it's for carbs though.

I was thinking the same thing. May want to make sure its rated for fuel injection. At least you're not running them long between changes.
