914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Heater blower lever

Flaky... Blower was always on. Move lever forward and back, fan won't turn off. Move it side-to-side, intermittently went off. Took it partially apart, cleaned it up a bit, sprayed it full of WD40, worked it back and forth... Yay! It's fixed!

Temporarily. Next day it's back to it's old tricks. Doh!

Stupid hoaky contact switch design! @#! No wait, probably just stupid CO (current owner). Ugh... How do I fix this thing? Put in a toggle switch for the blower and let the lever just move the flap? Hold on, I want to do it right!

Insight please?

Undo the barrel nuts that connect the cables to the flapper boxes. Remove the two bolts that hold the lever in place and pull the lever forward out of the hole. This way you can play with the spade connector and clean everything up really nice. Take some pictures if you can and we'll put up a How-To on it.

agree.gif the spade-connector is very close tu the tunnel/tubes. they sometimes touch and shorten out, making the fan run all the time ...

this can usually be fixed by bending the bottom part of the lever just a bit, away from whatever it's hitting.

some insulation on the connector is also a gud idea!
