The third biennial Northeast Rally and Barbeque is set for September 26, 2015.
We will begin at CFR-Tangerine Racing Products in Manchester, CT.
First car off at 10AM. This year the rally course instructions will be much easier to follow compared to 2013.
A scenic 2 hour drive through nearby countryside will conclude at Stonehaven (40 School Rd, Bolton) for the barbeque.
Even if you don't have a 914 to drive, come join the fun!
Plenty of food, soft drinks and draft beer will be provided.
This year I'm planning to serve Marathon IPA, brewed just down the street from Tangerine Racing at Top Shelf Brewery.
Everyone is welcome to bring their own favorite brew.
Those who wish to stay until after dark may be treated to a short fireworks display in the driveway.
I'm a little late making this announcement because I wasn't sure my yard would be available.
In order to get approval from Mary (my wife) to hold an event at our home this year I have a long list of house/yard projects to complete.
AndyB has been a big help so far, coming down from the far north to assist with some of the bigger jobs, a couple of weekends so far.
Still lots to do in the few weeks ahead.
Cost to attend is $30 paid in advance, $35 on the day of the event.
To make advance payment, you can send to my personal paypal account or mail a check.

I just checked with Linda, looks like we are free that weekend!
Hopefully the Towles will make it so we can avenge our "loss" to them at the last rally!
I may actually be able to make this.......not sure we are in for the rally, but you are right around the corner from Time Machine hobby.....and any excuse to go to the hobby shop is a good one with my kid.
Kelly
Pretty sure we will be attending. Just need to confirm with my better 3/4.
does anyone out their rent 914's? my wife and I will be out their driving around for are 10th anniversary. so if anyone has an extra car please let me know.
Weather dependent, Lisa and I will be there.
Linda and I are coming in spite of Andy's attendance.
I was drawing up a driving route this morning that will take us by the Stafford Motor Speedway.
No events scheduled for that day, so it should be quiet when we roll through.

My loss.

Less than 2 weeks to go.
My yard is shaping up. After a bit more help from AndyB this weekend I hope to get the inspector's approval.
A log of Around The Clock IPA has been ordered from Top Shelf Brewery. The menu is in progress.
The driving route is set but I haven't worked on a set of directions or a questionnaire yet.

This Saturday
The advance weather forecast is for partly sunny and 70 degrees.
So far I've received payment for 8 people.
Just paid for me and La Vieja
A little update on the event details:
We'll gather in the Tangerine Racing parking lot this Saturday morning (09/26).
Plan on being there around 10 am.
First cars will leave as soon as we're organized and route instructions have been distributed.
Along the way we'll have a short rest stop to regroup - at Valley Falls Park in Vernon.
The Stafford Speedway will be closed this Saturday.
There are minimarts and gas stations nearby.
We'll return to CFR via a different route.
If anyone's interested we can stop at Top Shelf Brewery (just down the street from CFR) for a quick sample in their tasting room. Growlers are available of whatever they have on tap.
Once we're all back in the parking lot at Tangerine Racing we'll embark on the short final leg of the Rally to Stonehaven.
For anyone planning to attend the Barbeque without going on the Rally - Plan on arriving at Stonehaven no earlier than 2pm as I'm sure the rallyists won't arrive until at least that time.
Address of Stonehaven is 40 School Rd, Bolton CT 06043
The menu includes:
Veggie platter, chips & dip
Barbequed chicken, hot dogs & hamburgers, Italian sausages
Baked beans, Corn on the cob
Potato salad, Italian cole slaw, Tuna macaroni salad
Top Shelf Brewing - Around The Clock IPA - on tap
Assorted Hosmer Mt. Soda Pop, Lemonade, Seltzer water
Assorted Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and cookies
I was told this morning there's a chance we'll have a mid engine turbo 911 track car on a trailer here to ogle. This car has 914 trailing arms.
Hey Chris, I'll be joining the event (sending PP shortly). I'll be solo and no streetable 914 to drive so I'll bring another toy, looking forward to the event.
Scott
Looks like I'm not making it because of a people shortage at work.....disgusted.
Have fun guys! I have a family event to go to nearby, so might stop by and say hi. 914 was running great until last week when drivers side heat exchanger developed a slight leak..so will take the M3, while I search for new pipes etc. Dreaming of Tangerine racing headers!
alright im going ...what about you pa. guys?? any one ??
unfortunately for me, not going to make though I tried to do motor swap in 10 days, and resigned myself to driving the mini, but as usual family commitments have arisen. was looking forward to seeing andy and joe and all the rest but not to be
Too much to do at home.
I could use a nice ride to Connecticut.
You would, if you left now...
I'm disgusted.
Thanks to everyone, especially Chris and Mary for hosting us- you two went all out! It was a great event!! Lorraine and I enjoyed every minute!
Here're a couple more pics- may be a bit redundant, but what the heck!
Regards to all,
Jim and Lorraine Kelly
Well said Jim,
Thanks to all that made our day. Chris and Mary, the set up and food were great. The weather was beautiful, the driving fun, the gang was enjoyable, and I do not believe there were any break downs.
Could not have been better.
Just got home. Had a great time.
I remember the first time Chris and I stopped by Top Shelf with my 914, and they were asking what it was...bet they know now!
Sorry I missed it!
Nice event, great cars. Where can I find more info on the mid 911??
You can search Pelican for mid engine turbo there are some threads there.
If I wasnt on phone I would send links
