This coming Saturday at the soon to be ex location of Original Customs. Bring food to Q. Bring chips, salads, soda, beer, girlfriends, wives, spare cash, and a smile. This is it! McMark is off to Michigan!
I just met the guy and feel incredibly lost that what was 30 mins away is now leaving. Now Mark is like 35 hours away!
I wish I had the time and money to stop buy this weekend....
Thanks again for all your help Mark!
What time??
People need to go. Send Mark off right!
I'll be there... with sunglasses to hide my tears!
He'll be back when it sinks in that the weather and extra rust in the cars there is just shit.
I sure hope to make it!!
I plan on being at the Grand Opening of the new shop when he gets settled in.
I'd be there if'n you guys were closer.
I got to meet and talk to Mark at this years' WCR in San Simeon, he's a really cool guy. Actually very quiet and cerebral about these cars.
I'll never forget him and Rick pounding on Jamie's fenders in the parking lot while we all watched (and drank.)
I hope it's colder than shit where you're going and you hate it, Mark!!!!! (trying to coax him to SoCal…………..)
Good luck Mark!
I'm looking forward to following your exploits in MI.
If I hang out with him in Michigan, I get to ride in da Boat.
Seems like he's just following the Limo
I thought Shirley Temple was an older gal?
Can you say "cheeseburger"?
Northern California to Michigan... can you say culture shock??
Crap ... 422 miles one way
... and the 'BB' is down for the count
Wishing you and your family well, Mark
Oh no not a hair cut, all of them cut!
Say goodbye to that CA tan.... wait a minute....
alllets get ready to rrrrrrumble!!!
McMark's flight comes in today!
Happy trails & good luck Mark.
Tom

Lots of rusty 914's to be repaired in Michigan and the rust belt
David
I plan on stopping to visit.
Probably a good time to pick up my engine, unless Rob has spirited it off to a new location.
Jim
I'm planning to arrive around 11am-noonish.
With beer and good stuff to BBQ
Afterwards, the wife and I will cruise the 914 to a few stops to use our Sonoma Wine Passport = free wine tasting for two!
Trying for a 12ish arrival time....The wife is not happy that I'll be the one fixing my girls hair since she will be at work..why can't girls wear baseball hats?
Rob and Co, do we have an official timeframe for the event? I hate being early, on time or late!
I called and talked to McMark today
He said "you can show up after 9am..." but also agreed it was a lunch BBQ and not breakfast
So, just get there!
He's going to need to buy a pair of insulated Flip Flops. Sorry guys, I can't help but laugh when I think about his transitional period. I remember moving from TX to MN and finding it so cold that it hurt to breath unless you buried your face in your coat. A beard is good for growing Snot Icicle's. That little chip in the windscreen grows clear across the screen. Did I mention you get to dress and undress several times a day? Somebody warn him about using his WW wipers in the snow. And you can forget about getting your winkie out to pee when it's 20 below. Go into a store for 10 min's and your engine is Stone Cold when you return. Then you get to wait on the heater again.
On the PLUS side. Your moving to middle America. Humble, salt of the earth folks in that part of the world. And $12 is going to buy you a lot more lunch than here. Experience life.
I'm just waiting for the Michigan Welcome Party. I'd do the 8 hr drive for it.
Was thinking that too. I'm more like 3 hrs.
How many gents will attend?
Wish I could go but just not enough time. Be nice to make Mark work on my car just to keep up the trend. LOL! Wishing you the best with the move bud. Hope to still see you at a few event's each year
We'll be there with Sausage (sorry no crab cakes) around 12:00 give or take, that's Som, Winston our 8 yr old, me and my truck, yes the 914 is still almost ready. Rennsport our first run!
