It is a V8 with a 930 transmission and cable-shift.

I don't even want to sit in it. It's nasty.
I'm already thinking that it will run off a 996 customer if one pulls through.

Ugly & rusty as it is, I hope there's a decent amount of salvageable parts there- hate cutting up teeners

The best part is the engine. The car came from Oregon and the engine may end up in an airboat in Florida.
Obviously, the 930 transaxle will be saved, as will the brakes, some suspension, the wheels and the fuel cell.
The doors and decks are fine. The rear fenders could be fixed up to go on a nice race car, and the Chalon nose can also be saved.
Top, seat shells, lenses, switches, gauges.....
I will save everything possible.

You may have the chassis for free. Come get it and save it.

I heard about this one from Loren. Isn't it a Ford big-block, i.e. 460?
Posted by: Johny Blackstain Aug 26 2015, 09:29 AM
There's an orange 76 that's been sitting outside for over 8 years now, only 4 miles away from my house. That's a lot closer than Florida
Might want to check out Michelle Benson's thread (AuCiel) to see if you have anything that matches up on her parts list.

The distributor is on the flywheel-side, so it's not a Ford.

What the heck is up with that clutch pedal? Obviously hydraulic but wow, totally in the way!
Someone put a lot of half assed time into this thing..
Posted by: Series9 Aug 26 2015, 09:47 AM
A friend said it was a small-block Chevy with aluminum heads.
Can anyone verify?

SBC Yes,
Aluminum heads, hard to say, I dont see any rust on the head which typically means aluminum.

Yeah, it looks as if the guy had a rule that he would do no fabrication work on this car unless he had at least 10 beers.

5 lug big brakes. check
body removed. check
solid and rust free. check?
just needs a -6 mount and a drivetrain swap.
You can do it. Just think of what you're getting in return

OMG! Please cut that up fast to put that poor 914 out if its misery. Sad what some people's children can do when left unattended and unsupervised.

In distinguishable English, please. Perhaps a few commas and such that might render this understandable. I would love to see this thing justified!

I know very little about American V8s, but it looks like a 460ci SBC would be a rare beast, indeed.

It has an Accu-sump type device, but there's no evidence of a dry-sump system.
