I am thinking about getting nitrous for my 01 grand prix gt and I was wondering if anyone knows something about nitrous. Does it wear your engine down quickly, or is it non-destructive to the engine. I want to keep the car for a long time, but I also want some more power for cheap!

Try some Googling. There's LOTS of info out there about this stuff. Some people swear by it, some people hate it.
You can't argue that it's a pretty effective HP boost. Just don't overdo it. If the general consensus (look for forums for your car. There have to be some) is that it can only handle a 50 shot, don't try to get away with a 75. There's a reason people say 50 is the upper limit.
Good luck,
Cole
Anyone remember a good thread somewheres.. about a nissan maxima and nitrous, guy forgot to turn off his bottle heater and parked the car in the garage, bottle overheated and blew the ass end of the car through the door all over the driveway. It's not just for dentists anymore, haHA!
Yup...tried to sue the manufacturer, too....
moderation is the key with n2o and a stock setup.
N2O is neat stuff, but I don't know anyone who has used it in modertion or conservatively. The only person I know has it on a 900hp, 7sec 1/4, t-bucket hot rod. I know he's never blown any engines. Of course, as previously said, on a stock engine, moderation is the key.
run small jets, increase your fuel, and dont think of it as a toy!!!
Nitrous can kick your ass and will destroy your engine !
I had a wet set up on a ford engine, and even with a bigger fuel pump/better everything engine gave up after a bunch of passes!
Learn about it....I dunno what the grand prix can take but ask around!
If used properly it is awesome!!!!
By the way the whole thing about the bottle exploding is for idiots....it doesnt happen just dont let the juice get hot!

omg you're going with NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWS ?!
had to do it.
Best in moderation, as stated above. I wouldn't do it to my 914 though... without the ability to variably change your A/F ratio and amount...
