You and I have been through a lot of pain and disappointment in the last few years. I heard your pain (when you voiced it in this forum) and tried to help you from what has happened to me.

Brad, be strong. Stand up with a clear voice and conscience, look them in the eye, and speak the truth. Do not be afraid to ask questions (if it is ok with your attorney). I believe you are right and will prevail.

Even though your immediate future may seem bleak, be aware that many many people believe in you and want the best for you.

You have created something wonderful with this forum and many of us come here when the shit starts to get us down. I hope you are lurking inthe background, reading the posts, and getting your grin back. When in court, remember what you have done with this forum to bring this great group of guys together. Remember that and feel good and hold that thought through it all.


A lot of us are having major crap in our lives right now, me, DD, and you to name a few. I hope next year I can finally get out to the WWC and have a beer with you and Sor Ahndie and laugh about how our problems of last year just went away...... and you can show me a rusty 914.....

Words cannot express how upset I am that this has happened. I cannot think of anyone more honorable. I believe when it is all said and done you will prevail, but the injustice of all this happening to you is just unbelievable.

Wear your 914World.com hat to court - that will impress 'em! Or maybe we should ALL just show up in our 914s and surround the courthouse - the court would really wonder what their are dealing with at that point.

Don't worry about your accuser - people like that always get theirs in the end one way or another. Many become candidates for the Darwin awards!

I hope the Judge realizes that this community of car owners is not a bunch of anonymous losers hiding behind keyboards. These people, spread throughout the world, came together around their interest in this 30 year old, inexpensive German sports car. They are moms and dads, kids, students, retired and working people. Some professional in their work, some work with their hands. Some are educated, some not. By any measure, this club is an eclectic mixture that cuts across the social and economic spectrum.

You provided the catalyst for us by creating the web site for the club. But, more than that, you set the tone for the members to support each other not only in their 914 restorations but in their daily lives as well.

The Judge needs to know that you are more than how you’ve been portrayed, that you've helped many more people than who can respond here and that the values you've presented to the club are very unlike what has been described by your accuser.

We care and support you. We are working for you.

Not having my best buddy around has been extremely hard, spending 7+ hours on the phone each day batteling this isn't fun, but most of all there are a whole ton of other people here for support and none of us are going to give up on getting things together to prove the truth.

I've gotten to know a whole lot of your other friends in a whole lot of other ways....the tough guys can show that they care too.

Keep your head up. I'll have seen you by the time you get this but always know that we all care A LOT, especially for someone who always helping everyone else out.

I have *almost* been in this same situation in the past when dealing with cars. It is very easy to fall into a pit like this when you never even know it.

Keep your chin up... Just like they told us all in Boot camp- When you think it can't get any worse- Its all of a sudden over with....

brad has helped me out countless times (i was temped to say "bailed me out")
regardless of the day of the week or time of the day.
he let me work on my car in his shop, let me use his tools and at the end of the
day even teach me a thing or two.


i can't even begin to list what he has done for the 914 community. if it wasn't for him,
the 914 would be a endangered species in the zone 7 autocross landscape ...

my car would still have a slipping clutch and a shitty paintjob and i probably wouldn't
have gotten into racing at all.

Well, I'm bringing up the tail end with my support.

I've probably known Brad longer than anyone on this site, excluding Dad Roberts, and if I know anything about Brad, it's that he's willing to help out anyone with their car problems. As someone else said above, he is a self proclaimed A hole, and with good reason as he has the ability to piss some people off (obviously), but one thing he is not, is a thief. He's never stolen so much as a piece of bubble gum (hmmm...my Dr. Peppers were never safe though...that's why I hide them now). I know Brad isn't guilty of anything more than bad judgement and being hard-headed.

I hope everything works out ok tomorrow...

This is the first time in my life that I have used my own money to help someone get out of jail! My ex-coworkers would call me "crazy" but that shows you how much I believe in you! I logged in for the first time in a while and saw what was going on with Brad. Unbelievable to say the least!

This is already an unusual board in that it is so "lively" compared to other online communities. The openness makes even a casual member like me feel as if he's known you guys for years. It also makes it hugely entertaining, I amused myself for hours when I was stateside last Jan. (chopsticks tread and related ball busting thread).

Brad gets a lot of the credit for this board and its personality. Great to see the payback in terms of the show of support. You've earned it buddy.

Also great to see the posts go from cautious / monitored to more open and 914club-like, shit there's even a bail fund message in the header (I wonder what visitors from more conservative sites must think!).

High drama indeed. When this is all over I see celebrity status for you Brad. Sincerely hope you're doing OK.
