914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Next G & R Swap meet - Sunday, October 11 2015, 6AM -Noon

Posted by: bdstone914 Sep 5 2015, 10:50 AM

Date: Sunday, October 11 2015, 6AM -Noon or until all of you leave.

Where : My shop and parking lot area at 10000 Indiana Ave Unit #9, Riverside CA 92053

https://www.google.com/search?q=10000+india...-8&oe=utf-8

Located off of Indiana Ave between Tyler and Jackson.

My shop is in the second building back from Indiana facing away from the street. There are usually many red and yellow signs for the neighboring BBQ Island shop called Gillian's Island

I will request a $15 per seller donation. Free admission to non sellers.

Food: I am having catered tacos with three kinds of meats, rice and beans. Water and soft drinks. Cost for taco plate is $8 per person.

Swap spaces will be in the striped parking spaces adjacent to the shop. Parking spaces park as "Desa Auto Sales" are off limits. The curb stops have sings on them and could be damaged by some careless parking. We have about 20 car spaces available along the North- South wall. Car parking will be between the first and second (10000 building). Few other businesses are open on Sunday so parking should not be an issue.

Please reply to this thread to keep it bumped and to give me an idea as to the number of people who are may to attend. Pass the word to those who may not frequent this forum or any 914 owner you know.

I will also be posting Craigslist ads with a similar announcement and will request that others help post in same info in the LA, San Diego and surrounding areas.

Please reply to this thread to keep it bumped and to give me an idea as to the number of people who are may to attend.

I can be reached by cell at 951 536 seven for seven ate

The first G&R at Bruce's shop was a huge success. Lots of cars and many items for sale at the swap meet. If you live anywhere in the SoCal area, you owe it to yourself to make it to this event. If you need something for your car, someone there will have it. If they don't Bruce has it or can tell you where you can get it. Try to attend. It is a good time with good people and a great chance to stand around and lie to each other about how great your car is. av-943.gif poke.gif

Sheeee-oooot! I'm out of town again for yet another G&R! sad.gif

Posted by: Elliot Cannon Sep 8 2015, 02:54 PM

While speaking with my shaman yesterday (you do consult with your shaman don't you) I spoke with him about the great vibe at the G&R. When I told him, I wouldn't be able to attend, he was visibly upset. mad.gif Which is unusual because I can rarely actually see him when I speak with him. He helped me protect myself from the bad luck which will fall upon anyone not attending the G&R. So protect yourselves. Do not miss this event. poke.gif smoke.gif I will physically be in Palm Springs that day but I will be at the G&R in spirit. "So it is written, so it shall be done".

I will be there.

I am bringing a pile of 914 stuff (if it fits in my daily driver) that is for sale or trade - fair market value of course, as the IRS wants their tax value on trades taxed as income...

...but if you savvy investors are in attendance, wait for the end of day "clearance" wherein anything not sold will be "donated" to needy 914 owners... or the dumpster..

The one thing I have come to know over the years is that a 914 can be situated in the corporate fleet of vehicles just as legitimately as the Range Rovers and the MBZ ML's.... , and that maintenance costs and other operational expenses (albeit, more costly on a 914) are allowed (now) to be taken off the top of your income, ............... so my company has chosen to clean house on storage of 914 maintenance parts - in inventory - and stuff held for future repairs... that is, clear off a few layers of stuff at the fair market value and take it to the tax return........... or both dumpster and he tax return..

Be wise guys.

The Tax Man gives us no quarter or relief, but,.. the Tax Code does..

see you guys there.

Thanks Bruce Had fun and met some really nice people, your a gracious host and seem to bring out the best in people

Posted by: Steve Oct 11 2015, 09:59 PM

Thanks Bruce for putting on another great event. I showed up in my car today, instead of trying to sell stuff. Some really nice cars showed up, but there were more people selling stuff last time. Curious why? The heat? $15.00 charge versus free before?
Still some great deals and the feedback from the people I talked to were happy with all the stuff they sold. It was probably the heat or just bad timing... who knows.... I also enjoyed the tacos and beverages and thought the $10.00 was a fair price for food and drinks. Hopefully you made enough money to continue with this event!!!

Posted by: jim_hoyland Oct 12 2015, 02:07 PM

I plan on attending the spring BS swap meet when it's cooler; it was too hot for me.

Posted by: oldschool Oct 12 2015, 04:47 PM

Yes last time we had a lot more 914 and folks selling , maybe they like hotdogs confused24.gif ....more. One nice thing for me was the drive to Bruce Love that 2.0 914...

The only thing I could think of would be the heat. Bruce's shop is closer to most of the LA guys than the old G&R location, so driving time can't be an excuse for many people..

Taco's were awesome just like last time. Perfect timing with them getting there a little earlier.

My dad and I sold damn near everything we brought with us to sell... I don't know what everyone else's problem was. haha biggrin.gif
