914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Gas Tank Replacement

Posted by: 914Bryan Sep 11 2015, 05:31 PM

The time has come to replace the gas tank for my 74. Its bad, real bad. Is there a vendor or a member in the 914world that has a reproduction tank? Or a clean used one? Or a different/better tank?

Any ideas appreciated.

Go to the G&R. You'll find what you need in Riverside.

Post a WTB in the classified for one. You'll find a good one that you'll want to get blasted, boiled out, painted (or powdercoated) and sealed.

Once you find a good used tank, you can clean it and seal it yourself with a kit like this:

914 tanks are pretty easy to do in one day.

Just be sure that the sealer is ethanol resistant as today's fuels are usually laced with corn squeezings!
