According to the records there were three 914/6s entered, #51, 54 and 85 and one 914/4 #20. Any pictures of #20 anywhere?

This picture could be car #20 but I can't read the number. It does say 914-4 on the front bumper so this must be car #20. The picture after this one will be of car #51.

I attened The 12 Hours of Sebring in 1972 with my Dad, I was 13. And 1978, 79,80,81,82,83,84,85,87,88,89,90,91,92, 94, and 98.

It was a wild place a few of those years. There was a story in Hustler Mag around '79 or '80. The promoter wasn't able to cut a deal with the local cops so there was about 150,000 people and about 15 rent-a-cops. I saw some pictures that a friend took of a couple girls on top of a school bus giving a lesson in anatomy with about 5000 drunk guys cheering them on. This was not a show-your-tits contest. It was more like hide-the-long-neck-Bud.
Things got out of hand in a BIG way.

And there was also a race going on.

That's going way back Paul! ohmy.gif

I remember seeing the Wynn's sponsored 914 when I first started going to the early IMSA Camel GT races, but I had never seen the T-Bird Swap Shop 914. I do remember the various Swap Shop 935's and 962's though.

What a contrast in the way the Sebring pits looked then and how they look today. In today's IMSA ALMS series everyone in the pits is dressed in team uniforms and the cars are all squeeky clean. The pit officials would probably never let that guy dressed in denim overalls over the pit wall. But you would still find plenty of guys who look like him in Green Park! laugh.gif

One day I'll dig up and organize my photo collection and find all of the old racing 914's. Yeah, right.... laugh.gif

There is a replica of the Wynns car that shows up to run some of the HSR events from time to time. I don't know if it is original or not.
