Hello All...haven't been a frequent flyer here in a number of years and let's face it, at this point I only seem to post when I need help.

Have an issue with my fuel pump. Car has been running great all summer, and this morning I did a spirited drive with the local car club (car porn pic below). Came back and found the fuel pump was leaking at the unit.

Here is more specific info:

- 1973 with a 1.7. D-Jet. Pump is located underside front of car near the tank.

- Original pump as far as I can tell. I've never replaced and have owned it for 10 years.

- Replaced all the lines a number of years ago and never a sign of leakage until this spirited drive this morning.

- Appears to be leaking from at least one of the nipples or the "nipple plate"?. Tried replacing lines, cranking down clamps, etc. Nothing works. Drips down the lines into the ground when pump is on.


I know enough to search before I post, and I didn't see any threads about pumps leaking from the "front" of the pump. Is that a thing?

Have some questions on replacement pump options and fuel line sizes if it comes to that. Was running great and then bam leaking like a civ from unit and nothing helps.

Your 73 did not come with the pump in the front. It was under the engine shelf below the battery. It's been moved, so it's a guessing game as to whether it's a stock pump. Pic of pump would help. Then we give some recommendations. Might be real easy, or not so easy.

It was moved by the previous owner. I don't have a pic and the car is 90 min away but based on pictures I've seen on here and what PO told me it's the stock 3 port version from '73.

The three prong pump has a history of leaking. Replace with two prong pump.

Alright I figured it out:

- Bosch Fuel Pump 69133
- Bunch of new 12mm fuel hose and hp clamps
- Throw out the Y connector, connect two remaining lines

Thanks guys. Any other hose sizes I need other than 7x12mm? Wasn't sure if pressure side was bigger going in to tunnel. Been awhile..
