914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rennsport 5 / 914World Meet + Greet

Posted by: Maltese Falcon Sep 13 2015, 06:35 PM

Saturday late afternoon September 26, we are having a meet and greet "Alle 914 Treffen" at our MSDS exhibit in the merchant vendor row, space#7.
There will be a pit row concourse going on from 4-6pm, so as the race day wraps up, come on over and mingle with all of the 914 folk. Bench racing, HP bragging rights, all stories are welcome biggrin.gif

No more corral left I am told.

Thanks Marty....I.ll ne sure to stop by.

Posted by: Maltese Falcon Sep 14 2015, 12:39 AM

Porsche might be up to more car-corral parking.
Mgmt. wants all of our vehicles out of the general vendor merchant area, each day at 8am. Might be that they found more space idea.gif
Looking forward to seeing everyone beerchug.gif

AFAIK the entire map is available right now to vendors and included in our paperwork.
I did notice the 914 corral (corral #1) near the merchant vendor area, has 32 914s . Boxsters beat us with over 100 in their corral, but someone at Laguna Seca spelled it Boxter Corral ??

Looking forward to meeting folks in person. It was fun to meet folks at Amelia Island get together last March, so let's have a great turnout!

Hope to see you, Marty. Will definitely stop by, but will also try to make this depending on the schedule.

For those looking for a corral spot, I've got a friend with one corral pass he's selling at cost. PM me if interested, but only if you're an end-user.

Thanks!

Cars will back in the flatlands, but we're flying into San Jose on Thursday and making a short vacation out of our trip out west.

914 corral is a great location, actually. Real short walk to the paddocks, where all the good stuff is.

And look how much less space is allocated to us vs the 911 crowd. Our cars must be getting quite rare!

PM me if interested, hate to see them go to waste.

I'm pretty sure you can "bullseye a womp rat in your T-16" from there. lol-2.gif

Actually, I believe the 914 corral will be between turns 2 and 3.. not far at all.

You can see turn 5 pretty easily... as 94 sits on top of a hill. I'll open the awning to cover folks.

It was great to finally meet Marty and others in person! However, I felt bad that Marty, Eric Shea, and some other vendors had to spend their time at their booths instead of being able to see the rest of the Rennsport activities.

Looking forward to the next one! Laguna Seca was great, but I wonder if Barber Motorsports Park (close to PCNA's home base) or perhaps COTA in Austin may also be alternatives?

Hey Marty, it was great to meet you officially! I was the Scrutineer for the PCA group and that kept me pretty busy for most of the weekend. So much so that I barely got back over to the vendor island.

REALLY sorry I had to miss the meet n greet. I hope everyone had a good time.

Oh, and the Baker 914 ran great all weekend! We had to make a shift linkage adjustment on Friday and raise the front ride height a bit to keep from bottoming at the Corkscrew. Other than that it was tire pressures and gas! cheer.gif

It was great to see those of you that I DID get to see. Can't wait for the next one!

Edit to say that I've got a few pics to post once I get them downloaded. I'll put 'em up here, if you guy don't mind...

Cheers,

The guy in the middle is Brent Knoll who was the other Scrutineer for the PCA group. He has Dave Rodenroth's old 914 roadster race car and is getting it prepped for the track. He also runs a SP1 944.

Our black six was also constantly being scrutineered by these Porsche factory guys. On overhearing one of them viewing the engine, it was something like "Holy scheiss" !

The actual grand opening of the remodeled Petersen will be in December 2015. The parking structure where these cruise -ins are held have not been affected/nor closed. ..so there have been several meets held this year.
