This is one of my favorite photos. Al Holbert taking a break after a stint late in the day. Cat-napping while there is a swirl of activity all around him. I believe this is after the turbo failure that lost 9 minutes and first place that the team had held for most of the day. Al and Chip Robinson were driving the Lowenbrau 962 #14. Their pit was the last one on the row, just at the exit to the track. The Mazda pace car was parked next to their pit. I was able to stand almost at the side of the pit as well as behind it. It was quite the experience. The 962 would come whistling past the pit (turbo whistle, but not much other sound), then the tires would screach as it braked heavily for the first corner.
