I'm going to Rennsport V without either 914 and will be there from Thursday night to Sunday. I'd like to have either a lunch or dinner, and can bring hot dogs, chips, and beer.
I need to know who all is going and what day / time is best to coordinate. I don't want to encroach on other key events, but would love to hang out with as many 914 folks as possible, especially the out of town folks.

Site C-94 is up on a hill overlooking turn 5 and my awning will be open and facing the track. I'm happy to host a lunch or whatever. I just need an idea of headcount and firm up the time.
Sat. lunch makes sense but I'll have extra people there (the kids). If we want to be boys Friday all day works too.

There will be a lot of people. I'd think twice about carting around or leaving in your car anything of value. That said, I'm happy to bring any WTBs to the event. I have big storage.

Sounds like lunch at Robs camping site on Friday and dinner on one evening after a day of Rennsport at Kula Ranch! I'd second that Kula Ranch is good I stayed at the RV park just down the road and grabbed dinner there my first night for the 2012 WCR.

Here's a camping map - I will be at Turn 5 as well, in space Track View 225. I will be in hardcore roaming photographer mode not hanging around at the campsite much during the daytime, though.

Friday and Sat nights, I'll have a fire as well. Look at the stars (the real ones - not the chumps flying in with their jets)....

The fire was caused by a bad shot at the Laguna Seca Rifel and Pistol Range, a shooter accidentally shot a concrete culvert and the spark ignited a grass fire that lasted about an hour before it was extinguished. The campground area was closed during the fire dew to smoke and reopened shortly after the blaze was put out , no damage to the camping area and no one was hurt.

As far as how many people are at the track I agree but I love the cars so much over the years I've learned to do it in my own funny way.

Sorry sold the corral parking! Oh well another season has nearly gone by and my car still not quite done, I have the corral parking pass and won't be able to use it so if anybody needs one drop me a line I'll let it go for face value $50

Pets are usually OK in campsites. That said, leave Fido at home. It gets really loud and you might have a tough time fitting ear plugs.

The coral pass may not get you back in.
Everyone camping get a "Camping Support Vehicle" pass and they pass out camping wrist bands when you come into the camping area.
Not sure how strict they will be for Rennsport.
For the ALMS & Tudor races I have had to have the support vehicle pass but never needed the wrist band.

We're flying into San Francisco, will meet up with Robyn and Travis Howard (also from Texas) at the airport, then we're driving down Highway 1 to get to the HoJo in Marina late this afternoon/early evening.
We're open for any get-togethers; we'd be happy to contribute to any party funds too! :-)

Went and saw Seinfeld perform his stand up routine last night in Long Beach. I imagine he had to "work" last night to offset some of his expenses for Rensport !
Heard he has a 917 and a IROC RSR fresh from the restoration shop he will be running around the track.
Keep the pictures rolling in, I will have to live the event vial photos this time...=(

The guy who owns/used to own that car is the one who switched the vin on my car when I was 17. His name is Tom something and used to have a Porsche shop in NJ.
Rumor was he did a shady deal to obtain the red stripe car. I remember a mysterious shop fire and an insurance claim to cash out of his nj shop before he moved out west.

I was there today and had a great time. Ran into several 914 friends. See everyone tomorrow morning bright and early.

One day Nolan will appreciate how lucky he was to get these cool experiences. We'll at least I think it is cool. Hurley sure is a champ!

Kathy broke out her Bumblebee for the day.....
We also did the parade lap today in the /6. I think it is safe to say that we were the first to sit 3 wide in a 914 on the track at Laguna Seca.

Hi Jim sounds like you went on the bridge from the 914 corral, if so keep going till you see a kind of Y stay to the left and then watch for vendor tent on the right side.

This is the first time I've seen the bubble on head light covers. Does anyone know the story behind these? I am pretty sure it was not a rust bubble.

The guy who owns/used to own that car is the one who switched the vin on my car when I was 17. His name is Tom something and used to have a Porsche shop in NJ.
Rumor was he did a shady deal to obtain the red stripe car. I remember a mysterious shop fire and an insurance claim to cash out of his nj shop before he moved out west.
Met Tom Woodford today, very nice guy. Has a Porsche Parts shop in Winnemucca, NV

Actually, the whole N Cal showing was kind of weak. I've seen more people at IHOP breakfasts.
I know we are all busy and have other things, but you just don't have this kind of experience roll around too often.
Staying at the track was very cool.

Sorry we never made it over to your camper...every day we said we were going to stop buy and say hi, then next thing you know, its the end of the day and we're planning dinner with everyone!! So much to see, so much to do. Heck, we only went to the PCA Tent and car corral once and that was on Friday! Spent a lot of time talking with drivers, team owners, other friends we had that we kept running into. Missed probably a dozen or so buddies that were there and could never hook up with....NEED MORE TIME!!

The 917s were cool from a historical perspective. The Cup cars were incredible to see racing and they did it for 2 days.

We were at turn 9 and I was shocked how hard they were all pushing the 917's though that section. They were all bottoming out and scraping while diving in on guys. It was nuts!

I was in hardcore photographer mode most of the weekend, trekking around the track and up and down the hills with a bunch of gear. Man, I love that place! Just getting around to downloading my pics...Met some great people down in the 914 Corral. Some members drove their 914's all the way from South Dakota and Texas
Got some nice pics of the Kelly Moss 914-6 GT clone (at bottom of this post)...over the top attention to detail, smelled like a new car inside with leather seats and dash :-)
Also got to meet Chad McQueen as he signed a picture of his dad for us...and yes my boys had a great weekend!

This about sums up my RRV, as well. Found it totally overwhelming. Didn't even get out of the paddock on Friday, then Saturday and Sunday went by in a blur. Saw many I didn't expect to, missed some I planned to see, and never got to places I really wanted to go—MSDS being one of them (sorry, Marty!). Did get to walk by the row of 914s in the corral and saw some cool cars (including the gray Four), but didn't get to linger as long as I might have.
It was a great event, but had me wondering if it was overload—though figuring that the average fan probably couldn't have been happier. Not sure how they top this, but thinking that making it a bit more intimate might be a step in the right direction.

The 930 in the background is me ! My 914 was in the Patrick Motorsports hauler .i was just returning from my flat in freedom . Two of the Patrick guy's followed me home , and picked up my twin plug 3.2.
