Over the years I've seen you guys build temporary engine test stand out of wood to run the engine out of the car, post your pictures. I need to put some thing together to run my engine. and thank you all.
Sorry it's not a wood stand , but I modified my engine assembly stand , I cut the down
tube & welded in another slip tube for the old v8 yolk plate, I pick up a vw bus bellhousing
off samba ( $30 ) , I mounted it low for balance , here's a few pictures , I also made a
battery tray with a instrument panel with some extra gauges I had , Bill D.
I was trying to figure out the purpose of the bell housing. Clever way to lower the center of gravity.
Heres mine that I use to run up 356 engines.
WOW good stuff, I do have a bell housing.
here is mine - engine on a pallet - and a board mounted vertically to hold a couple of switches and fuel pump.

For carbs its easy, you only need a few circuits. Starter. Fuel. Ignition. I also put a simple tach on the control panel, just for kicks.
Zach
Stratplayer has a good one. I will try and dig up the thread.

Good stuff guys!!
I would love to see the wiring diagrams that go with these! Esp. if d-jet is involved.

rhody, here's the test stand I built from ebay plans for $150. I modified to serve as dolly and to hoist the engine for installation.
