alright, a big thank you to the BSG (Brad Support Group) !!! smilie_pokal.gif

brad is out of jail on bail and they will be heading back to the bay area tonight.
he spent 10+ days in jail and you can imagine that he probably needs a day or two to get his head straight again.
he probably won't post here until tomorrow (they took his computers) but he told me to say hello and thank everyone for their support.

he was overwhelmed by the outpour of help from you guys! pray.gif

Great News! smilie_pokal.gif

Now hopefully B's lawyer can get the charges dropped. Once a judge looks at the pure cost benefit analysis in dollar terms of owning or being associated with 914's, he'll know that B or any of us aren't in it for the money.

If the court wants, they can start with my balance sheets for my 914's...

Let's see...2 race car builds in the last 4 years....1 street 914 resto....hmmm....

I can say under oath that I'm a tad negative on the cashflow blink.gif

Great to hear you're out Brad.

Excellence does not put articles on their web site. You can order back issues at http://www.excellence-mag.com/back_issues.html

Unfortunately, I'm at work and don't have my copy with me so I can't remember which issue it was! I'll post that tonight when I get home if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Posted by: Jenny Mar 7 2005, 10:59 AM

October issue. But IIRC, it really didn't mention the car and B very much at all. At least, not any more than Rich and the Alien was. The term grasping at straws comes to mind. dry.gif

Jen

Posted by: TROJANMAN Mar 7 2005, 11:00 AM

if it's the same article that talks about the WCC, i think it was posted here once before.

Posted by: Bleyseng Mar 7 2005, 12:20 PM

Jeroen wrote the article and it was just about his experiences attending the WCC04. A few words were written about the #4 car with one small pic IIRC. In no way was it a big article about the #4 car as WCC04 really wasn't about that dumb car.

I have some pics from there but choose not to post them dry.gif

ohmy.gif Wow! I have not been on the board in over a month and my jaw just hit the floor after consuming all of this bad news. It's like a nightmare except I am not dreaming. 10 days behind bars is enough to make anyone 51/50. Brad buddy, I am glad you are out and hope that this will all be behind you soon. Brad is one of the most stand-up guys you could ever meet. This guy would give you the shirt off his back and shoes off his feet if you really needed it or slam a door in someone's face(or their face into the door) if you had just shoved a big piece of cake in the DJ's face penetrating his nostrels & eyes and you were being chased out of the bar by all his friends. Thanks for making my birthday party the best ever B. Love ya man!

Oh my dear god, I dont check this forum very much and look what I get! Or should I say look what Brad gets, SHEESH. I am donating what I can right now to Brads Legal Defense Fund. Brad call me on my cell phone if there is ANYTHING at all I can do. If you need it I can even be a character witness for you, although I am sure everyone on this forum would do the same. Hang in there Brad, things will work out! Again call me if I can do ANYTHING at all.

Great to hear, now get those computers of yours back they are your private property not the property of the state. For some reason I feel those computers are worthless to any government stooge after the gurus around here make them "safe for use". Unless the warrent included them they are not fair game to just take as part of a fishing expedition. (don't ask how I know - I won't answer here)

I will bring up some OT causes when this nonsense blows over.

I dont actually know where to start.

First off I want to thank everyone for their relentless support and constributions to my "fund". I never thought I would see the day that we would have to "use" the clubsite to raise money for my bail or lawyer fees. It makes me want to puke each time I think about it.

I want to single out and personally thank a few people that where directly involved with the process. I will address the club people in another post later this week. I wanted to post and thank these few first.

1. Birgit. She watched me get loaded into a unmarked car in cuffs. She could have easily ignored the whole thing and gone back to her life and stayed out of this whole mess. Instead she dove in head first rounding up the troops, and contacted people to help with my bail. She was the frist person to visit me in San Mateo and the first person to help me get my projects organized for completion while I was "away". She has given up 100's of hours of her time to help someone she didnt have to help. For this I am greatful. Birgit, you are a great friend. Everyone should have a friend like you. I am forever in debt to you for your help and dedication to this matter.

2. Britain Smith. Britain took over all aspects of my small shop handling rent/clients/parts (without being asked to do this) Having Britain as a friend (over 10+ years now) has proved to be a great value. Very very smart young man. I have no idea why he still continues to help me after all these years. Thank you Britain. It really means a lot to me.

3.Lyressa. She could have easily turned her back on me and chose not too. Birgit and Lyressa drove down in my truck to bail me out of Joshua Tree. I never expected for her to speak to me again. Our relationship has been on the outs for several years. She chose to follow her heart. I will always hold a special place in my heart for her. I'm sorry I have put her through "car hell" all these years. 24/7 car stuff...

4.Dad. He coordinated with the "girls" and gave them a place to stay semi close to the courthouse. It reminds me of how important "family" is and how sometimes we let business/jobs/cars get in the way of "family". Dad took care of us the whole time we where in the LA area. Even took us to the Pomona swap meet on Sunday. It was a good feeling knowing that I had a home close by. Thanks dad. I owe you.

5.Richard Linsdall. I have NO idea why you are behind me and support me in this, but it is good to know I have you as a friend. Seeing you in court with my family/friends really helped relax me during that very stressfull time. Seeing people that live 7-8 hours away show up for a court date out in the middle of knowhere proved to me that I have some very strong friendships that i didnt know about. Thanks Richard. I know you beleive in me. We have been through a lot of business CRAP. Thanks again for being "there" in my time of need.

Ok. I need some time to myself to get a grasp on what is happening in my life right now. Please be patient with me. This is all I can ask. My cell phone is ringing off the hook with people wanting to know what is going on. I will NOT discuss anything over the phone. My next court dates are set for March 16+17th after those dates I willl know more about my future. Up until those dates I'm busy gathering all of my info for the lawyers.

I'm emotionally overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. I never knew so many people could support a pain in the ass like me.

"This Too, Shall Pass" gets me through a LOT of stuff...just keep saying it to yourself. I can relate to wanting to puke while thinking of troubling stuff...Let's you know you are on the RIGHT side of the argument. People who don't care sleep fine at night. I don't assume you are getting much good sleep these days.

Thanks for posting! Now everyone back off the cell phones for a week or two. If we can help let us know. It's your fault were all here so you'll have to put up with us.

We got your back!

What a nightmare brother! I may be a pain in your ass, but I'd never wish something like this on you. sad.gif

What 'the man' doesn't understand is that you REALLY CARE about the 914 community!

I hope things get straightened out for you soon.

Hey Sir Bradholio!

Good to see you posting. You're a humble man and don't deserve this crap. You DO deserve all of the support you are getting because if it weren't for you, many of us wouldn't know what to do with our cars. The 914 community OWES YOU. It's the least we can do to support you in your time of need.

Keep a positive attitude. What goes around, comes around. The a-hole that started this will hopefully get what he deserves!

Regards,

Qarl

Brad...

Don't forget Jeroen, Andy, & Lawrence for keeping us informed with just enough info so as not to be detrimental to your case, keeping the rumors under control, and helping to coordinate the bail fund here in 914club.

Now.... go have a beer...

Qarl

Lyressa.

I would never turn my back on someone I've put up with for 15 years... biggrin.gif I could definitely give you a few extra kicks in the ass, however... alfred.gif

I, too, want to thank Birgit for spearheading this whole thing. We would all have been in a world of hurt without her dedication. pray.gif

Brad, I hope you learned your lesson: Never buy anything earlier than a 73. smile.gif

Geeez, enough already...you just need to understand that that is just who I am. If my best buddy is in need, and helpless on top of it all, I will give anything and everything in order to help out where I can. Well also, him having left his cell phone with me, made me an immediate secretary. wink.gif

I felt very helpless for so many days, not finding a lawyer, not getting anywhere and not knowing what the next step is, but in the end I found the support of many 914club family members and started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to everyone for all of their support.

At this point I'm just sooo glad that we got him out boldblue.gif grouphug.gif

The immediate next step is to get some meat on the guy's bones beer3.gif chowtime.gif

...a kick in the ass is still in order though, for making everyone worry and loose lots of sleep alfred.gif

Yeah this country has forgotten the whole "innocent until proven guilty" premise that our justice system is based on. That sorry rag that calls itself a news paper (the San Bernadino Sun), just proved that they don't know how to put anything but biased drivel in print. According to the blurb our boy is guilty. I call BS. I guess in the media the facts have little meaning on the situation. Villification seems to be the order of the day.

I'm emotionally overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. I never knew so many people could support a pain in the ass like me.

Youre a worthwhile pain in the ass to support! ..and I dont even know you that well! All I can say is that your insights have helped me with my little ugly bug over the past 3 years.

Posted by: iiibdsiil Mar 9 2005, 12:54 AM

I think when this is all over, buddy boy accuser should have to spend a couple nights in jail, just so he can see what it will put you through. I have never been, but I know a lot of people that have said "I will never go back" and has stopped them from screwing up in the future. From the stories I have heard, it is a personal goal of mine to make sure I never end up there, not even for a night.

I wish you the best, I know this will all work out in the end.

I find it funny that the judge doesn't understand why would we support an asshole like you. Especially an asshole that has bailed us out of many problems with our cars, taught us a whole lot, and really isn't that big of an asshole to begin with.

Guys, they don't turn big rocks into little rocks anymore, that was prison in the old days.

Brad, I would like my license plate to say **914** wink.gif

I'm really glad you are home but sorry this isn't over yet. If I can help you know I'm close by (very close by).

It's the tough times that help you appreciate the good times.

PS - I think we might need to advertise the legal fund to a wider audience (a.k.a )http://www.savetoby.com/

Welcome back Brad.

I understand you got to keep it quiet on your defence and such, but if you need help, I hope the message is put out here, where you can get help.

Ohh and no worries on the jail thing, I know you and me aint the only ones on this board that did a night or two in the slammer. I only wish my time was due to as worthy of cause as a old 914.

Hell Miles did 2 weeks over that whole parakett/vasaline/food proccesor thing he told me.

Thanks for posting Brad, it's good to hear from you.

Don't get down on yourself, you can't control the past, or what life hands you sometimes, you can only make a difference in the present and future.

You've seen the support poured out here - you're obvioulsly someone pretty special - can the whole club be wrong?

Oh yeah, alfred.gif - don't get too cocky. biggrin.gif

I can see it easily being worth that much! After you pour $100K - $200K into the restoration, of course.

Just like any other 914--you go through all kinds of hassle for it, lovingly restore it at great expense, and wind up with a car that is worth half of what you've spent on it... biggrin.gif

Glad you're out, B. Now on to the next thing.

Hey Brad, it's FAT TIAR TIME beerchug.gif

Of course the mans only focus is on the bad parts of the past... that's what they specialize in. It's their only toe hold and their toe hold isn't much... they're grasping at anything.

Your support from us will continue, GUARANTEED

Thanks Brad.

It is amazing that it was 10 years ago I met you in Texas and needed help on my 912. Not only did you help me, but like you always do you showed me how to do the things to you do. Here we are now, 1500 miles away from Texas and I am still working on the same car. I am not sure how we both ended up out here, but you are a good friend and I am glad to help out where I can. With the support of this club and your close friends you can get through this.

This reminds me of a little fable:

This man walks into a bar and asks for a drink. He looks kind of sad so the bar keep asks him,"whats the matter?"
The man says to the bar keep, "Do ya see that bridge out there? I built that bridge with my own two hands, and do thaty call Brad the bridge builder? No, they don't"
"Do you see that house over there? I built it with my own two hands, but do they call me Brad the house builder? No, they don't."
Do ya see that 914 sitting over there? I restored it with my own two hands, but do they call me Brad the 914 builder? No, they don't."

"But you fuck one sheep!"

Only your friends will remember you for you good deeds despite your bad. I hope you smiled. I hope it was ledgible as I am after the 2nd bottle of wine. I have more funds coming your way and it is purely selfish. I just like to help those that I deem worthy.

Your not an A-hole.
