So after my 2k mile journey I have been having what I thought was synchro issues until I adjusted the clutch rolleyes.gif then things seemed to be fine but now - just a few days later the clutch cable seemed to adjust its way back out to where the clutch isnt fully disengaged. I adjusted it again but now its back out of whack.
I wonder if it coulc be a broken clutch cable tube?
how do I tell?
If not can I use locktite or something if its the adjuster nut itself that is moving?

Also, forgive my ignorance but, what is the position that the clutch should engage when releasing the clutch pedal?

Its hard to be cool when your grinding gears at stop lights biggrin.gif

This is pretty common. The nylon in the locknut wears out and the adjuster nut moves from the vibration. Go and get an additional nut so that you can double nut it. Tighten them against each other and it won't be able to move. The size is a bit of an oddball (7mm threads if I remember correctly), but you should be able to buy it at your local auto parts store.

As Demick said, double nut the cable at the release arm, 7mm uses an 11mm wrench. Also check to make sure the nut at the front clevis is tight as the cable can twist out slowly. To check the cable tube, open the inspection cover on the tunnel and you can see the tube, try moving it to seen if it has broken loose. I like my clutch to engage/disengage in the middle of the pedal travel, where some like it at the top and some like it at the bottom. Good luck.

So far so good, I used the double-nut trick suggested and no problems after a week or so
