914World.com _ 914World Garage _ AA Seal Kit?

Posted by: CptTripps Mar 8 2005, 06:46 PM

I've stripped the entire car, and will need to buy all new seals for it. I came across this kit that AutoAtlanta sells, but I'm wondering if it's really worth it?

( This link may, or may not work )

I had Dave at GPR quote me on a full set, and it came out a bit more, so I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing? (I think he was quoting OEM seals)

I'm not going for concourse, so I don't need OEM everything. I just want to keep the water out!

Has anyone else bought this kit? Are you happy with it? Is it missing anything?

Thanks again gang...

I got all my seals except one from Dave at GPR. He does sell OEM seals and they are all great. It's the targa top seal (300+) that puts things over the edge when you are doing a package. Delete that one from Dave's seals and get the Sammy seal from the club member (sammyg I think) in here. His targa top seal is just like OEM and works great. Then, you'll see Dave's seals are in line with anybody elses.

Yeah, I already bought Sammy's Targa seal. Dave's quote didn't include that one either, and was just shy of 2X the cost of the AA kit.

If people say that the AA kit is crap, then I'll plunk the cash down, but if it'll seal the car up the same...why waste the extra money.

Anyone actually bought/used the AA kit?

The AA kit is crap. Buy the OEM pieces and you won't regret it in the long run. The AA pieces are not constructed like the OEM pieces and you will notice the difference. cool_shades.gif

I got mine from AA--simply because I just could not afford those other kits out there--all my stuff arrived and I am putting everything together and it is working out just fine--no targa seal--got mine from Sammy--but I got everything else--looks and feels just like new--oh wait--it is....

I can say I am very pleased with this kit--very nearly complete

I can afford it, but I'd rather spend $600 than $1000. I'm just wondering if there is a $400 difference...

I bought the windows and targa seals during the 20% off sale. I'm very please with the fit and quality of these. Price was half of what the ones at Pelican would have been.

Remember guys, ya get what ya pay for. Ya want cheap, pay cheap. Ya want good, pay the price. I'd rather buy something once and not worry about it, than go cheap and have to replace it because it wears out fast. Just my .02.

My experience with AA is that they do not stand behind their work or their products. If you buy from them make sure you want it before you send the money, you'll never see the money again. The return policy I found was that it is always the customer's fault.
