I am having my 1970 914 project painted to its original irish green L60E. I have the car stripped and being prepped for paint. After reading various threads on painting I am planning to use wurth stone guard for the under belly, wheel wells and valances. I have the following questions:
Is there a time sequences in using the wurth product and then painting over it? Is there any prepp work needed to spray over the stone guard?
Is the stone guard product the same as the seam sealer? Can you use the same gun for different textures between the underbelly and the seams?
How much stone guard will I need?
What type of paint is preferred for paint? single stage vs clear coat? I am not going for total originality over what looks good and will last. Do I want the car to look original? Yes but I can go for better products then what was available in 1970.

I am sure one of our resident expert painters will jump in here soon. Be patient. Irish Green is a terrific color.
Your best bet is calling the manufacturer and asking them.
I would look into getting your texture tinted in green to match as close to the factory color. A shop should be able to do this. This way you dont have to spray over it and if you get a small nick in it its still green. Your not going to get an exact color match though so you dont want to use it on the exterior body.
