That happens when someone has subscribed to a thread and their mail server is unavailabe for some reason. That bug was fixed in later versions of Invision Power Board.

someone has subscribed to the forum or thread you were trying to post in using a invalid email address or their mail server is temporarily unavailable.

In my case I was replying to a PM from a admin. I guess his IP is dead?

Had the same problem here when posting a new topic.

Posted by: solex Mar 11 2005, 01:38 PM

me too when posting to the Garage and trying to PM or EM another member.

Posted by: merrill Mar 11 2005, 01:38 PM

Thats why I inadvertantly posted the same topic 5 times.

Posted by: SirAndy Mar 11 2005, 02:13 PM

ok, i did a quick & dirty fix ...

simply made the BBS eat the error message!
the problem is still there, but now you won't be told by the BBS anymore.

happy?

Check the plug wires. NO ... wait... lol2.gif

Uh - looks from the message like the problem is with mail.914world.com, not with anybody else's server...?

I got the same message when I tried to respond to a PM.

nope, we had that before ...

malformed email addy from one of the members (or missing altogether) will cause the mail server to hick up.
but *only* if that person (the one with the crappy email) has subscribed to a thread or forum ...

anywho, anyone still getting the error or did i "fix" it ???
