While my engine is out I’m re-fitting my Accusump to eliminate the oil leak I had previously.

What is the best way to seal fittings to stainless seal braided lines, or between connectors or anything that screws together where liquids will be flowing?

Does Teflon tape work well with aluminum fittings or is plumbers putty better?

Or is there something else out there?

You shouldn't use anything on AN fittings, but for the pipe threads use either teflon tape or a sealant paste for pipe threads (I know Russel makes some). I'd steer away from plumber's putty since it's not made for the temperature or oilly conditions.

Lightly tap on the head of the wrench with a small mallet as you tighten the fitting. Learned that trick from an old A&P mechanic I worked for as a kid. Has worked good for me.
