Is there a thread on how to refurbish retractable seat belts?
Mine are out of a 1976 car and are dirty and fully retracted.
I can't get them to release.
Thanks Brian screwy.gif

Go to your friendly Porsche parts house and order replacement seat belts for a 944. They are a bolt in replacement. You only have to open up the hole for the pin with a drill.

Aren't the 914 belts identical to those used for VW Beetles of the same vintage? They should still be available new from decent aftermarket suppliers.

Not the same belt as a beetle
they have longer belts due to higher seats. i have cleaned them and reused . them. hold them against a verticle surface to get them to extend. temove the cap that does not have the coiled spring. clean and lube. not that much to them.
