does the glass need to come out to replace these?

is the an inner fuzzy or just outter?

my glass is banging around and i am afraid it will break if i hit a big pothole/bump.

No. For late doors you'll prob want/need at least the rear channel strips and of course the end caps.

I'm at the same point. I think with the door panel off, you can get the channel in there with the window rolled up. It looks like cutting to the right length before install is key.

This area is tricky, and I need to address it too.

The red and white arrowed items slip right in with the window in place.
On the yellow arrowed item mine are so weathered they"re going to come out in pieces.

You'd probably want have both the red and white removed to give you enough movement in the glass to get the outer fuzzy out. I've never tried changing it.
I'm right there, right now on my rustoration. Working on removing the track. One of the screws came out. Two are frozen. If a day of soaking in PB Blaster doesn't do the trick. We'll add some fire.

With the window in place I think I'd try one of those orange 90 degree angle HF picks. Start right next to the wing window. Gently pull towards you. Unless its been changed before it will probably come out in chunks.

Very interesting,
Your car is the late door, and yet has the correct outer seal.Porsche superseded these with the 911 type, and they are a pain to roll the window down as the grabbed.

Looks like a time capsule.

The good news is you should have a scissor mechanism and it's easier to work on.

You may find that removing the glass is the easiest way to do this. Fortunately, it's not too bad.

To be honest the seal at the triangle widow is a pain to deal with. But you do not have to remove to replace the others.

Here's the goodies I make that may help.
The rollers for scissor mechanism, I don't know if you can but these anywhere else, but if you have a flat spot you can replace them

I think you will find the outer fuzzy seals and scrapper holder will have to come out because of rusted items and getting everything clean/rust treated.Mark is offering a very reasonable door kit available.

I have my door interiors apart and did have to take the windows all the way out as Mark as indicated.

From this thread, I see I need to order the rollers for the scissor mechanism.

Just place an order for two sets (total 4); Mark, do you have copies of the procedures showing on this thread?

The copies on the thread are very faint and are hard to read. Could make a copy of the procedures and send me a copy with the parts ordered?

I concur with Mark. I don't see one replacing the outer fuzzy without the window being removed. Like I thought, the fuzzy just disintegrated as I was removing it.
