I was trying to install new plastic ressovor lines and can't get them all the way down on the steel feeder tube . I tried some light oil with no luck . What is the best way? I've done the old stove trick . Using PBM new lines .

I have the same issue putting the ferrals in my replacement plastic fuel line,a quick wave over with a heat gun is the trick, they will never come off except with a cutter.
I found boiling water not quite enough.
