Nice
Answer to my own question
Drive-Ability's car
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=219539&hl=
Just read his build thread, amazing amount of work and detail of parts in this car. I wish I was even close to his skill level as I would buy and finish that car. Even if you scrapped the body the parts alone make it a good buy.
Crap - I just contacted him...
I'll let you know if I proceed.
Chris
Nice work and he was smart enough to list it elsewhere. Lol
What's left to do? Disassemble, paint, glass, interior, reassemble?
So close to the finish line it seems.
The owner told me the other day he is a member here too. Told him to post his sale here.
Wow, that seems like a bargain price for whats in it.
holy shit. that engine bay is freaking rediculoussssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Wish I hadn't just bought another Carrera...I'd be all over this. Parts alone are more than the asking pricing.
If rebuilt a G50 is worth around 1/3 of the asking price alone
That 996 suspension is beautiful.
^^ agree ^^ if I had the technical ability to complete this, I would buy it.
If it's still around in a month or so...
DO IT
You can store it in my garage until you have room.
A cinch,the decision to buy.
An acceleration of epic proportions, tearing hot asphalt from the gravels and sands of the desert.
A conglomerate of 3,5 or 7 California 914 guys and gals agreeing on the LS6's proper destination.
Should take as long as about twenty minutes,or as long as it takes for me to type this.
Form a quorum and vote on the choices of such thing as the color and what vinyl topping will match.
A high value, rockbottom price, any rodder would spot that in seconds.
A legendary build,a tough job to exceed the many details of construction.
A meticulous finishing effort needed.
Have fun,kids.

I've only had 59 Cars in 37 Years! and made money on all of them! lol
This car appeals to me because of where I am in life (dealing with Ls Customers everyday, having access to great fabricators & welders), my general disdain for new Porsches and wanting something super cool that could be made uber reliable!
Wow. always loved this thing and looked forward to updates on it. Hopefully it goes to someone who can complete it.
Heck. I've got more in my engine than his asking price...for the right buyer, it is a good deal. There is ALLOT of work left to do - mucho dinero too! What is it? Some of the build appears to be "race car", others, not in the least? I think it has an identity crises, of sorts. My only real question is how the handling can be manipulated to accommodate a car weighing well over 800 lbs less than it was designed to handle (no pun intended).
Tony
I see him driving it pretty regularly actually.
Yeah I want it. Tempted to take a loan out for it too. Somebody just buy it & save me the trouble it will cause me. (My wife would not be to happy with that purchase)
Only Mike B can buy it....too many 914s leaving California
Neat build, I'd like to pick his brain on the 996 suspension install.
That car would save me a shit-ton of money... If only I weren't out of work at the moment.
So... who won?
I tried, and I also REALLY don't need another project, but the seller has replied to me with "Pending sale".
-Steve
Carr914 - I would put my money on it staying in (Northern) Cal. Silence is deafening...hmm?
Also, unless the seller is not into details (which otherwise doesn't appear to be the case) the engine is not an LS6 - its an LS1. They (LS6) were not made until 2001 and even if it is, the 2001 LS6's were plagued by ring issues - the worst of the LS6's. If true (as in a 2000), its just a $1500-$2500 LS1 (regardless of the heads) Its value if its a 2001 LS6 is $2500-$3000 tops. I added up the parts...they don't "add up" to the asking parts (FWIW) based on what I'm seeing.
Its actually sad. Another uncompleted project with grandiose aspirations...too bad. I can only hope the buyer truly knows what they're getting.

Just got a reply from John that sale is pending.
