I used to swear by the bursch units, but the last two I installed were pure junk. Paint was still wet in the box, and they beat up the muffler with a ball peen so the outlet would fit which was totally unnecessary. The outlet had plenty of room to clear if they just turn it a little bit. There was a hole in the top of the muffler I could stick my hand in after 2 months of service. I've bought my last bursch! I chased an "exhaust leak" on one car for three months that caused popping on decel. Cut the muffler off and replaced it with a $20.00 muffler from pep boys. Popping disappeared.

The muffler itself looks great.
The flange area looks amateurish.
Expensive too.

Well, it's not just fitting it on when new... imagine trying to take it off after a few years, after the bolts have seized in there.

Also I don't think this is a "Bursch"

The ebay ad states it as Bursch as manufacture.

I haven't seen it listed any where else.

Fore sure would have to use anti seize on the bolts and pray they don't seize !

That's not a bursch, that's a SCART muffler, from France. The seem welds between the halves give it away, as does the little serial plate that it welded on the front (back) of the muffler. Dead Giveaway, as is the price.

I would go with Foley if you want stainless.
There are alot of different types of stainless, and quality of stainless.

At least with Chris, you can speak with the actual manufacturer and know he will take care of you.

Oh, and its cheaper.
