Soe anyone have a decent handle on the proper size or specification for the original 914GT hood pin plates' rivet? Or maybe a good close-up shot to measure the relationship between the width of the four plates and the head of the rivet???
Thanks
I'd guess they were whatever Hans had in the toolbox... Franz, in the next bay over from Hans took less time to think about the rivets than it took you to type your question.

Follow the drilling and placement recommendation.
With rivet selection grip range is probably the most important.....too long a grip range and you are f'd as the rivet will come loose over time if it is a pop rivet.
I.d select a number 6 rivet with a grip range just within the metal thickness to be fastened.
Rivet material is a matter of choice...if it were I alum or stainless....
....also Forrest.....use a compound pop rivet gun or air pop gun to pull a No 6 rivet.
There is more information on what you are asking here:

Are you using them on a FG, CF, or metal hood ?
