914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Carpet Kit Identification

Posted by: ThinAir Feb 27 2016, 12:38 PM

I recently had my car painted and am in the middle of reassembly, which includes a new carpet kit. I'm having some trouble identifying just what some of these pieces are so I'd appreciate some help. Here's the list of what I've identified so far and what I don't know.

Attached Image

1. Driver footwell
2. Passenger footwell
3. Center tunnel - over the shifter
4. ?
5. ?
6. ?
7. ?
8. ?
9. Driver side rocker
10. Passenger side rocker

Also, info on which pieces are definitely glued in place would be helpful.

I used my very best "Andy school of photo focus" technique for this shot ;-)

Ernie -

4 & 8 go behind the seats & IIRC 4 is driver side with cut-out for the e-brake

5 & 6 go up at the pedals, but I think 6 gets rotated 90 degrees to the right

7 looks like the piece above the pass. footwell, but looks shorter than what I recall.

If I'm having a brain fart on any of these, then I'm sure someone else will chime in! biggrin.gif

PS - errr idea.gif .... maybe 6 is at passenger side & 7 above the center firewall ?? wacko.gif

Test fitting them will tell you which is right.

Cheers! beerchug.gif

4 - behind driver's seat
5 - passenger footwell
6 - drivers/wheel well piece
7 - glues above pedals
8 - behind passenger seat

You can glue everything in but the front mats and the mats behind the seats. You can glue the mats in behind the seats if you want.

Take extra time to really glue in the hand brake area, this part always wants to come undone. You have to really stretch it tight there,
and it looks a lot better (and there is more room for your hand on the hand brake) if it is tidy there.

Thanks so much! Now that I know, I can picture how they fit in. Gotta get my GTMat sound deadener installed first, but the carpet will be next. Pictures will follow!

This picture seems to show the orientation.

Close. The rear seat carpets are swapped. The ebrake has a little cut out.
