are there any differences between the aircooled.net piston rings for a type 4 1.7($30) and the pelican rings for $59? idea.gif one order would simplify my life

I plan to replace the stock cyliner spacers(only found these at aircooled.net) too, but I'm unsure the stock 1.7 thickness to select confused24.gif also, is there a sealant used here? which one is recommended?

also, is there a gasket/shim at the top that I need to get? anything else I'm forgetting? I plan to replace the rings when I swap the heads as well(just for good measure)... and since I'll have the engine out/heads off I will put a CHT gauge in as well...

what else? I want to do this right, but quick so it CAN be driven july 4th weekend to my parents(at least that's the plan today) wink.gif it may all change tomorow.

when putting in new rings what checks do I need to do?
check both cylinder/piston for roundness(wallowing)?
gap between cyl. and piston?
check for scoring/dents of course...
measure deck height before pulling the cylinders off and after to make sure they are the same...

what is the right case-to-cylinder sealant to use?
is there a manual or tech article somewhere?

I'm phreakin' out, man!
