Just a quick guestion for those of you who have been down this road.
When depressing both brake and clutch pedals, it feels like they are rubbing together beneath the floorboard. Is this a bushing problem or a sign from above (or below as the case may be) that a pedal cluster rebuild is in my near future.
Thanks for any help.

Are they rubbing the plywood floor board?
If pushing on one makes the other move, then the common shaft/bushing situation needs cleaning up, or fresh bushings. Sounds like it's crudded up in there.
Factory bushings are plastic and are probably toast by now. The clutch tube runs thru the brake tube, so you have to take it apart to fix it. So... the answer is a rebuild anyways.
dis connect either the clutch and accelerator cables. See if the bindind still occurs. Isolate it to the pedals or not. Sometimes the old bushings swell or the parts rust internally causing swelling and binding. Refresh the whole pedal set if anything is needed. The bushings are all the same age unless some one has refreshed it.
Can build you a replacement without having the first returned.
Might have the cables wound around each other in the center tunnel. Easy to do and this is one of the symptoms.
