914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Locating the Inner Ears

Posted by: obscurity Apr 19 2016, 03:01 PM

Does anyone have a foolproof way to locate the inner ears when replacing. I removed mine some time ago (it was pretty well butchered) and now I need to figure out how to get it in the correct location. I have tried measuring the other side but the process of hand measuring seems fraught with inaccuracies. Additionally it doesn't fully consider the location of the outer perch.

Does someone make a jig?

I don't know if anyone makes a jig, but this is how I did it (see post 79):

There is a diagram floating around with the suspension console measurements...but I can't seem to find it. Do you have a copy?

This is what we finished today for the left side.
I'll put Super In Law on it tomorrow. Could we create a lighter weight jig for
locating only ? Hmmmm.
