914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rolling car without the axles

Posted by: lagunero Mar 31 2005, 10:21 PM

I would like to move my car around without the engine/tranny/axles etc. Is it possible to insert ONLY the stub axle, tighten the nut and NOT damage the bearings? I assume it's safe but I don't want to find out the hard way!

Yup, just torque the stub properly and you could roll it cross country.

i wouldnt think youd hurt anything....

as long as the stub axle is pulled and tightened into the hub....

(yes)! you need to tighten the stub axle.
