Great car... I have two of them and drive one daily everywhere I go pretty much...
Its the best daily driver that Porsche ever made in my opinion.. Simple, Cheap and will go forever on a tank of gas... The tank is 21 gallons!
I have researcehd the 912E for the past 15 years, if you need to know any odd things about it yell at me..
he said he set a speed record with it? it was in excellence magazine not sure what issue? black on tan
i was happy about how eazier the oil cooler is to change tha a 914 i got to do one in the morning ,half way there
You can pull the entire engine in 30 minutes....
The car is SOOO easy to work on!

I want one bad. That's what I think of them. |
they are hard to find... I was looking for one when I found a 914... everything you like about a 911, except the engine...
What about finding an old 911 and putting a 2.0 4 cylinder into it? It won't be a 912E but will be just like one.
Been done...
Atleast 15 times in the last 5 years or so and I have provided the engines for that many...
What is the year range for 912 production?
KT
2.0L with Ljet!!!!!

it's all about balance.....a good driver in a 912 can beat a good driver in a 911 if both cars are similarly setup suspension wise |

Two years ago I took my 2056 TIV powered 912E to Roebling Roaad for a Driver's Ed..
I had to give on "pass signal" all weekend..
It's not slow at all and handleas WAY better than the same year 911! It has 150+ lbs less weight hanging off the ass end.

Yes, but it still had two more cylinders and the same amount of "Tail endedness"
I was quite amazed the my E did so well, especially since it was built out of used parts and not even blueprinted!
I have done resto work on several of the early 912,s and don't really like them, and I'm a big 356 guy. Former boss just sold a 69 912 rolling chassis with a dissasembled engine for $4000.00 Car needed front trunk and had been hit in the rear. 69's are bringing crazy money for some reason? I'll be putting a 912 engine in my Manx some day BTW 76-77 911 = shart. Sorry cams, thermal reactors, emmissions We have a PILE of 2.7 pistons that no one wants. Cylinders are great for JE pistons though
