914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 914/6 Dash

Posted by: Biggles May 6 2016, 02:40 PM

Hi

can anyone provide a picture of a 914/6 dash without its cover material on please?

There seems something not quite right with mine and i want to know if they differ around the steering column area (mine has a big hole below it as shown).

thanks

Chris.

Do you have a key on the column. Unless it's a '72, that's the problem.

(Maybe a really big problem)

looks like the clamshell and the column covers are wrong
Here is what it's suppose to look like on a factory Six

Nevermind, I see from other posts you have a conversion car. Carry on.

I think that is a 911 clamshell... and later as well.
Also.... there is no 'eyebrow' on the right side.... can't see the left.
It is definitely not a 4 cyl. column.

thanks that's useful. Not sure why though the clamshell is so far up from the bottom of the dash face? Maybe it's a 911 type which might be narrower across its depth like in the attached pic ?
Will have to take a look tomorrow.Attached Image

just seen rgalla9146's response - maybe onto something....

what exactly are you referring to as an 'eyebrow'?

Look at the picture that 'toolguy' provided.
the 'eyebrows' are on either side (left and right) of the clamshell.
If your car is a conversion with the column positioned incorrectly all bets are off as far as
accurate fit.
