I'm sure it wasn't STOLEN. But the title doesn't match the VIN on the car (only the one replaced on the windshield).
I'm sure the '71 VIN is probably from a defunct 914.
In Florida, they verify the VIN in two places (at least they did on my old 914). It won't fly here.
Regardless, potential buyers may be asking for trouble.
Perhaps he put in 71 and meant 75?

No... it was discussed on an earlier thread. The car is a '75. All VINS are '75 except the winshield VIN and Title. Supposedly someone spoke with her and she's owned it for 2 years.
I think she bought it this way, but any future owner "could" have trouble reregistering. It depends on how strict they are in your state.
