Here is a group picture taken around 1:00 since some had to leave even though not everyone was here. I will post more later but wanted to post this group picture.

Sorry I had to miss this one. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to get home from Canoga Park to Long Beach. The traffic and accidents were unbelievable.

I was one of em who had to leave early. But I did scarf down at least my $5 worth of the best puerco loco, tri tip and chicken I've had in a long time. Joe- you must post some recipes and general directions on how to do that bbq voodoo that you do so well. 
Whoever has the full version of the group shots I'd like one emailed to me!

But seriously, Scott said he got to bed late last night and that Joe, the bbq king, knocked on his door this morning at around 4am to get the food started
It was awesome as usual!
I didn't bring my camera, but helped Scott take some pics.

Glad to hear the engine lt off...had to leave as I had a two plus hour drive.....great food fun people, new friends.....

they worked really hard. yesterday we began to prepare. today scott and joe have been up since 4 AM cooking for all of us. these guys rock the 914 club.
this is what this club is all about! beer, bro's, battered cars and blowing up motors!!!!
also - remember how much cleanup will be required...please account for that, these guys worked hard.
scott - ill take care of all the beers.....ill swing by tomorrow late afternoon and assist you with some cleanup.... (PS - dog is ok....)

I had a great time and actually met some people I didnt know. Thanks to everyone who showed up, these events wouldnt be the same without you.

I had a blast... was I fashionably late?
... The food was excellent, the beer was fabulous, and the company was awesome! Glad to meet so many of you all. I chipped in for the food and drink. Hung around to the near very end.

Swood, thanks for the kind words about my 914-6. But I'm not the original owner. My step-dad is, he owned her for about 30 years, then sold her to me, and I restored her. When I finished the restoration, I took her back over to show my step-dad. He took a look at her and said, "I sold her to you, because I knew you'd restore her and take care of her, you brothers and sisters would have just run her wheels off, I'm very happy with the work you've done". The common link that my step-dad and I have with the 914-6 has brought us closer together, really cool. It truly is a family affair.
Thanks again for having me, and let's do it again. Dr. Evil and I have been talking about have a start up party/BBQ when he get his engine in. Then it'll be your guys turn to come on down to San Diego. Woo Hoo.

One more picture of the view from the garage tonight after cleaning up and moving cars around. Allen left his car here. He gave up on it and told me to keep it. Oh, April fools day has already passed huh. He left it for Steve and I to resolve the issues and make it run and he will come back and drive it home durning the week. Then one of the neighbor ladies was walking outside and I appologized for all the ruckus and she even said she thought it was cool. And this was the one I thought would complain. Great neighbors!!

1. Sticking injector (one plug very dark)
2. Intermittent harness (hey it's old)
3. Fuel pressure (as in no one had a guage)
4. engine timing (as in is the drive gear actually 180 off and are the marks on his evilbay purchase in the correct spots)
Engine guru and garage dweller SKline reset the valves.....so.........

I am going into it tomorrow to verify everything is right, ie: timing marks, dizzy placement, TDC and valves, I should have it running right tomorrow. Got a source for injectors if one is not right. He will be driving it home this week. Count on it.

PS....have a red rear boot lid...looks reasonable, but had some holes drilled in it...for a luggage rack I think....if you need it...it's yours. I think I have one more, but it's up in the racking and currently very hard to get to.

Hi Jeff....
There are several assumptions here. The car is on the rack, I have the tools laid out, and I drop the drivetrain on a rolling table and lift the car up.
I did it once to see how fast it could be done. Disconnect all attachments up top (fuel, electrics laid on engine, etc). Raise car...do shift linkage, cables, axles, muffler (leave HEs on, etc). Lower car till engine bar rests on table and gun the rest of the bolts. Raise car. Roll drivetrain out.
Installation is the reverse. The lift and rolling table make it easy...the rolling table is 4' high.
No magic...just knowing what all has to be disconnected.
