I guess that's one way to remove the engine from the car...

Just cut of the axle in the middle with a torch or sawzall!

Sheez!

Karl,

He probably had a sawzall or torch at the junkyard, but no 12 point socket! No problem!

Well, looks like I might end up screwed over on an evilBay transaction. I'm not out any money - but the advertiser is changing his story.

71 914, w/o engine or transmission. Seller states he will deliver for 75 cents a mile. Apparently, he's not too happy with the price he got, because now he expects mileage payment each way.

Your opinion - am I seeing this wrong? "Buyer pays shipping costs. Can negotiate delivery for .75/mile from Wichita. Otherwise, best if you come and get it yourself, bring your own wheels (unless you win the wheel auction too!)"

Check out the ad:

I can't blame him for not being happy with the selling price.
Oh Well. That's what happens if you sell at an auction without reserve.
Delivery is delivery. How he gets home is his problem, not yours.
He probably would have liked it better if he was getting the .75/mile to go to Canada.
He did say 'negotiate' but I think he is just trying to jack you for more $$$'s.

good score. i would do a midnight run if you think he is going to jack you around.

The car may be back up for sale... I told him to either stick to his ad, or I was going to walk.

Too many unknowns about that car for it to be worth any more to me. I've seen pictures in his other ads, and he's capable of taking much better pics. The pictures were deliberately poor.
