Just bought some 16" Fuchs and the fronts came with tires, 205/55/16 Dunlop D60 A2's. But the rears did not have any tires.

The rears are 16x7 and need tires. What would be a good match for a flared car with a 25mm spacer? Dunlop sports 225/50/16?

Kerry, I have run Dunlops on a truck I used to have . I was very happy with wear but mainly the adhesion . Handled well ,( for a Truck). Presently I have Michlin Pilots
on my 914 ,3ed year held very well ( auto cross) and the ride is superb . Dave

Kerry,

My street tires are Dunlop Sport 9000's.

I'm running 205/50 on 7" Fuchs front, and 215/50 on 8" Fuchs rear.

My car sits very low but has 911 fender wells on back - plenty of clearance.

I would think 225s would have plenty of clearance with your flared fenders.

You might try another thread with "flared fenders" in the title and attract some opinions from your like breathren.

I didn't like Dunlop's due to the fact that they flat spotted too easily...I run Kumhos on all my rides.

Kerry, 225 50 16's would be a nice fit with those flares. But you could get away with 245's if you had 8in wheels.

I personally like Kumho ecasta 711's.

205 50 16's are only 53 a piece...

Might be cheaper than gettin 2 dunlops..

BTW....DEPENDING on the manufacturer...225s will fit a 6 and 245 on a 7...but are best on an inch wider each.

A flared 914 should easily handle 7s and 8s...

yep, i have to agree about the Kumhos. got 'em on all cars. price, wear, and performance; a great balance of all three.

Dunlop is owned by Goodyear, and they are very interested in becoming involved in PCA events. In our region (4) and maybe the rest, they will donate a set of tires for each DE we do and then one set at the end of the year to a member. Any tire they sell, any size. All we have to do is hang their banner at the event and use their logo on event materials.

If they are interested in input.....expand the availability in the 15 inch tire sizes....be a little more price competitive....

Had Dunlop D60 A2s on a couple of our cars. Good tire at at good price . . . good handling, pretty good in the wet. Only problem was that they tended to get noisy as they wore down . . . .

IIRC, the D60 A2 was replaced by the "SP Sport A2." We've used these on one of our cars for the past 3 years with good results. Our others are running on Falken Ziex ZE-512s . . . .

I had D60 A2's on my car when I bought it. Steve is correct, they were superceded by the SP A2, which I have on my car now. I was worried about fender clearance with 205's so to be safe I bought what is basically a very similar tire. I like them because they are good street tires and they are non directional so I can do a real tire rotation with them. The downside is that they are not very good Autocross tires. It seems like they like to get slippery when you cook them too much on the course.
