914World.com _ 914World Garage _ I bet you can't guess what this is

We found this while preparing to remove an engine from a customer's car.
It's a necessary component on a 914.
The part it's modified from is also a needed component, but unknown if actually off a 914.
Attached Image
A sideways thru hole is isn't visible in the pic.

It's pretty crusty so I won't be surprised if no one comes close to getting either the current application or the original.

it kinda sorta looks like a deformed and dirty shifter coupling half?

Posted by: Racer Chris Jun 2 2016, 01:23 PM

It does go under the engine, but not a shift part.

Posted by: RobW Jun 2 2016, 01:26 PM

It looks like a 13mm bolt with a couple tumors.

Missed the no shifter. Is it a torsion bar/ a arm adj?

Posted by: OU812 Jun 2 2016, 03:56 PM

It's the proportioning valve for the brake system.

Looks like it might be off a ford pickup, then repurposed for a 914 ?

Don't worry, Eric, I've got this one:

It's NOT a proportioning valve. It's a pressure regulator! chair.gif

Or IS it....?

Its got balls on the bottom and threads on the top.

Looks like something I might do.....

Clutch cable spacer?

You're the closest.
It's a homemade clutch fork clevis.

Brake banjo bolt used on braking system

You're partially right.
A banjo bolt was the starting point to making the clevis.
