914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Let me pay you to R/R my drivetrain

Posted by: Jeff Bowlsby Jun 13 2016, 04:28 PM

Looking for someone who is willing/able/interested in removing/reinstalling my drivetrain which needs to come out for servicing, then put back in. Planning to start within the next month or so, but can be flexible. On my driveway in San Ramon, CA.

1974 914 2.0L

I have done it a few times so I can coach and have all the needed tools/knowledge, but I am eager to 'share the experience' with someone else who wants to get paid to learn how to do this. High school or college students? A new 914 owner? A son or daughter you want to teach the value of hard work?

Just two tasks: Pull it out, and put it back in. Possibility of additional wrenching if interested.

No request for charity here, I am willing to pay a reasonable sum for your efforts, to be negotiated.

If interested, PM or email me confidentially through this site.

I'll do it for plane fare... shades.gif

Actually, I don't need training, I just enjoy the pain.... I had to do mine 3 or 4 times before it was just right.

Wish I could help tho.

Maybe your not the best choice to help if it took you 3 or 4 times to get it right. Just saying. poke.gif

Interesting. I have ever dropped a stock engine. Far from high school/college however.

If I got this offer 25 years ago, I would have jumped on it right a way. This is a great way to get the job done and help out a young person at the same time. GREAT idea!!! smoke.gif
