Take a look at this link from Cody Forbes on the quattrolist! Enjoy! The Cap'n

Had this 914 come in last week for a check-up. It was *MINT*, so I looked in at the odometer - 23,000 miles. Yes original. Car was kept in a A/C'ed storage unit for more then 15 years without seeing the light of day, and was just purchased by a customer at my fathers shop for more then (he wouldn't tell us the exact number) ***$75,000***.

Yeah when I bought my 36,000 original mile 914 a little over 3 years ago it looked similar but if you subtract a decimal place thats about what I paid. I'm kicking myself now maybe I should of just thrown it into storage for 3 years and made a 10 X profit! ...no I'm having too much fun abusing it.

Tell him to wash those wheels and take a feather duster to the engine compartment.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO. original miles are worth as much in the 914 world as original rust and dust.

Okay so my 33,000 original mile 914 is in the same condition. It must be worth $50,000. Barrett-Jackson prices. aktion035.gif

To the car's credit, it appears to be even cleaner than the other low mileage cars that have come up lately. I could see $10,000 being fair. If someone was looking for a show car, then maybe up to $14,000 if they liked the later cars.

It's almost too nice to use though.

What a shame...

Buy some Warhol if you want something purdy to look at on the wall. If you get a Porsche (especially a 914) GO DRIVE IT driving.gif

Theres an old lady in my town that has a 73 or 74 1.8 with 50,000 miles on it and she is the original owner. Before I bought the car that I have now I asked her if she wanted to sell it and she said she would but then her son told her that he wanted it one day. So needless to say she changed her mind and I wasnt able to buy it, but wow that thing was in amazing condition. Every once in a while I drive by and checked it out. Maybe one day she will change her mind.

The 68,000 mile one owner that I picked up a few weeks ago is super clean, but like all 914's it still has a few issues. Of course these "issues" are very minor and it is the most rust free I've ever seen after being in the desert for 30 years. It was $5500.

I've had a bunch of 914's over the years, but until this car I didn't know there was a buzzer that went off if you left your key in the ignition with the door open like "new" cars.

my /6 has 23,000 mi but of course it is looking very, very used-up just now ...

mostly indoor storage in desert climes for the last 25 years, but it was the pre-storage incident that took its toll.

great find, tho... i think i'll print those pictures to keep with my 'Restorer's Guide to Authenticity' to prep for concours judging...

Wow, great find on a very nice 914, don't know about the price though? You never know, there was a 8500 mile 86' 911Turbo for $45k or a 27 mile, yes 27 mile 89' Speedster for $125k. Whatever someone is willing to pay I guess? confused24.gif

I just want to know if the new owner can still cash in on the free catalitic replacement when it hits 30k miles! I bet it's been a few years since a dealer had someone drop off a teener for a freebe!

Yes sir. Rumor on the street is they are closing up shop and the owner is going to South Carolina.

There was a < 500 mile '17 Model T that sat in a couple of different dealer showrooms from the '30's to the 80's. It came to a collector in SoCal and has since disappeared, the collector died and nobody can trace the car. If found, it still wouldn't bring $30K, at least not from sane people...

If I spent the kind of money mentioned above, I wouldn't be giving any exact quotes either... screwy.gif

Boy! And I thought I paid too much for my 40K mile car which is every bit as clean is this car! What was it that P.T. Barnum said?
