Hey Guys,

Still new to the 914 life. Anxious to start driving this summer. I can't get my 914 to start to save my life. Turns out, it looks to be the fuel pump. The one I have on it is not the correct one. Pelican Parts offers 3 different ones. Mine has the d-jet system from what I can tell. Can you tell me which fuel pump I need to get or get from another site?

Need more info.

Do you have 3 port or two port pump. Where is it currently located on the car. What makes you say you have the wrong pump? Picture would help.

These are the best pictures I could get. It looks like it is currently attached under the car with zip ties. Here are the pictures I took if this helps. I don't see a filter attached anywhere. Also, it has 2 wires coming off of it that lead to a toggle switch on the inside of the car. I know this isn't right. It had to be switch to one side to get it to run when I got it but know I can't get it to start for nothing.

Also attached is a fuel pump assemby I forgot I purchased from Pelican Parts. Will this work?

The CB pump won't work you need a FI pump.

I wonder if the toggle switch was a cheap anti-theft device? The fuel pump you bought would be appropriate for a carbureted engine but not for fuel injected engines.

Those zip ties are scary!

What Mark Henry is saying is that you bought a low pressure fuel pump for carburetors. Fuel injection requires a high pressure pump.

Possibly the switch was for that but it was right out in the open. I figured it was turning something on. I know one thing, the regulator plate did not have #3 relay in the 2nd fuse area closest to the relays in it but it still started so somewhere something got bypassed. The 25amp fuse was in the second fuse holder which I read is for the heater fan and fuel pump. The first appears to be a non used or for an extra from what I have read.

Pelican Parts doesn''t offer a Fuel injected fuel pump from what I see.

I found this one on Ebay? I am guessing it will do the trick.

I assume that is the fuel pump that is zip tied under the car?

Yep. It is the zip tied piece.
I bought an Airtec pump off Amazon recently and added a pressure gauge at the fuel rail behind the drivers side. Do your self a favor and mount the pump to the fire wall behind the passenger side .
Omit the zip ties unless you like fires.
