I have been looking for a 914 for some time and finally found one in MN. After a good PPI the owner and I came to an agreement and I will be going up next week to bring it home. Here it is:
Mike
72 914/2.0 (from 74 donor)
01 986

Welcome Mike. Zambezi green? Love that color. That has to be the longest antenna I've ever seen. Is that for the radio or CB?
Thanks everyone. The color is Irish Green (that is what the seller thought). It is the original color but I wil have to do some research to be sure.
Yea the antenna is for the radio and CB but it will be coming off after I get it here (IL).
The car is a 72 with the engine and drive train from a 74 that was wrecked right after the engine was rebuilt. The front suspension is from a 73. Stiffener plates have been added and all the rust area have been taken car of and also strengthened.
It does have some surface rust under the paint so I have some work to do get rid of it.The inspector couldn't feel any rust holes. Most likely I will get the car painted it this winter.
I have to get new tires for it (the ones shown are 10 years old), different seat (I will be using this for auto-xing and maybe a driver every so often).
It will be a lot of fun.
Congratulations on the 914! Good looin car too. Welcome to the club.

LOL
I didn't see the antena...
Mine was the same but with a 4 inch chrome spring. Taking it back from the guy I bought it from it was bouncing al over the place, it was installed at the dealer in 74
I owned the car for 30 seconds before it came off.

Joe
Congrats Mike,
Dark Green & tan interior - what a beautiful combination.
And you right - the CB's gotta go!
Enjoy!
