Posted by: PanelBilly Aug 25 2016, 12:45 PM

Carillon Point show is the next day. Would rather hang with you 914 guys. Anybody have a recommendation for a hotel near there that would have a safe place to park my car

Posted by: cary Aug 25 2016, 09:47 PM

Travel Lodge is probably the best choice. Its back off HWY 99. Tucked behind a funky restaurant and beside the Chevy dealership.
Then you could push your car across the street to the pizza parlor. LOL.

Or you could go 5 Star up on the hill at the Spa for $415 per night.

I'm in!

Posted by: Pursang Aug 27 2016, 12:05 AM

I'm going to try and make it too.

Posted by: steuspeed Aug 27 2016, 01:24 AM

I would do this. Post date, so I can schedule myself off work.

The Spa is already full that weekend! Looks like most of the VRBO houses are taken too. Is there some kind of event going on?

Posted by: cary Aug 28 2016, 11:56 AM

Newberg Okotberfest is all I see.

Posted by: PanelBilly Aug 29 2016, 09:26 AM

The Octoberfest looks like fun. I think we're going to do that on Friday. 4-10 so we can drive down Friday morning. Now to find a house with a garage or driveway.

We won't be there till the movie.
Wedding in Pacific City at 2pm.

Bump. Please keep us posted about any changes or early activities. Thanks.

Posted by: Mikey914 Sep 6 2016, 07:47 PM

Probably going to be at Abby's a bit early, don't want to have a place too far at the end of the line for the drive in.

Posted by: PanelBilly Sep 6 2016, 09:23 PM

Julie and I will be there for sure. Coming down Friday and staying with some relatives over the weekend. I see that there's a truck event at the drive in that night too.

Posted by: Mikey914 Sep 7 2016, 02:47 AM

That's one reason we may want to get there a little early

Posted by: Mikey914 Sep 12 2016, 11:21 AM

Comming up this weekend YEAH piratenanner.gif

Posted by: ben*james Sep 12 2016, 09:53 PM

What's the movie?

edit; the movie is Suicide Squad. Looks like a hoot but probably not for my 6.5 year old. So, we'll do just the pizza at Abby's and head home and watch a disney smile.gif

Posted by: Pursang Sep 12 2016, 11:53 PM

I will be there for food at Abby's and to gawk at other cars. As for the movie, at my age watching a movie in my recliner at home with a cold drink and nice snacks is entertainment. Sitting in my stationary 914 for over an hour, as much as I love it, is not on the agenda.

I need to stop in Olympia on the way there on Friday, so we're doing the Octoberfest on Saturday. If you'd like to join us for a drink (or four) chime in and we'll come up with a meeting spot. I'm driving my delivery rig so we might head home after pizza too. Then I can bring the teener to the PNW PCA show on Sunday.

It's nasty outside today. Too rainy for an outdoor Octoberfest. We're going to search out some of the wineries in the Newberg area. If you'd like to join up give me a ring.

Suggestions for best wines are always welcomed.

A to Z Pinot. Inside Rex Hill Winery. Going north on 99W

Posted by: cary Sep 17 2016, 09:46 AM

Then head south down to Dundee. Duck Pond is the first thing that comes to mind.

Posted by: Mikey914 Sep 17 2016, 09:59 AM

Well , may just be Pizza if the weather sucks too much.
But we will see.

So we can meet at Abby's regardless. Those that want to go to the drive-in movie can head on over in time for the show. The screen is big enough that the weather doesn't matter. And speaking of the weather, it's Oregon for cryin' out loud. This isn't rain, it's a heavy dew.

Sorry to miss this. Wipers no workee...

Posted by: Mikey914 Sep 17 2016, 09:59 PM

I wound up having to leave my car at home too. The defrost fan and the blower in the engine compartment fan didn't work, so nothing resembling a defrost was operational.

Thanks to all that showed up. Nice to meet up.

Too much rain for the movie.
Maybe earlier in the year next time.

Good to meet you all. Rain was a little heavier than the dew I had forecast. Roads were more slippery than a politician. Still, it was fun pretending the 914 had 400 horsepower.

Sorry I didn't make it back in time............... sad.gif

Find another motor. It was touch and go after Super In Law cleaned it.
IIRC the front blower only worked on one of the motor speeds. Touchy.
