hey, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I had a Siamese kitty for 17 years, she died last June. I still think I see her around the house. She was my friend, always with me and a great sense of comfort through a divorce. I have a new kitty, whereas she was a little lady, he is a ruff and tuff little boy. Totally different, but still a great pet. Hang in there.

Posted by: Mueller Apr 13 2005, 06:53 PM

I've had about 15 cats at one time or another, got a nieghbors cat that prowls our back yard keeping the rats/mice out so I have no complaints.....

Posted by: trekkor Apr 13 2005, 06:54 PM

When I see that picture it makes me very sad.
It will hit me tomorrow, as we had a morning routine.

No little lion on the end of the bed. sad.gif

I've still got "Zelly" cat though.
Just heard news that a relative's cat just had four kittens today.

Our last cat was "Zoey". Maybe I should name the next one "Zois". lol2.gif

My god I know how you feel.
I had to do mine on Feb 24
I had her for over 20 years.
It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
I still get tears when I think of her.

Posted by: guywan914 Apr 13 2005, 07:24 PM

sorry for your loss. cats as independant as they are can be great companions. Ours is 19 years old , an outdoor cat and great hunter in the past. everyone thinks I put the heat in the garage for the 914 but I really did it for her. Guy

sad.gif Sorry to hear about that. We just had to put down one of the dogs 3 weeks ago. He had always had health issues and this last one was untreatable. I was fine through the whole event until I got home Mon. (2 weeks later) and saw the card from our vet and her crew. I lost it. 1 last year and one more this year, but we have a new stray that showed up so it made it a little easier confused24.gif

It's always tough to lose a "friend"! We've had to put down two old cats in the last year or so but now we still have three cats, all females, all rescue cases; seems our condo complex is the place for people to abandon their cats or just move away and leave them behind! Each of them is so different but we sure couldn't do without any one of them!

Sorry about your loss, pets love you unconditionally, and it really hurts to loose them.

I've had cats of both sorts: Lovable and totally independent. The lovable ones are great and so neat. The independent ones are a little easier. My parents had a cat that just hated me to no end. Of course, I terrorized the poor thing once and it never forgave me. Brad and I had a cat once and it was so neat. It was huge but so lovable. Too bad Brad was allergic to cats.

Posted by: Qarl Apr 13 2005, 08:25 PM

Sorry for your loss Dude.

I've had about 10 cats over the years since I was kid. They are really great companions.

When you are ready, go to the pound or SPCA and adopt another. We just did. We're up to three now... and the dog.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your baby kitty.
I lost mine about six years ago, My wife was washing clothes and didnt notice the cat jump into the dryer.
Well I was sitting upstairs watching tv and listening to the thunk thunk, thinking that she must of washed a pair of tennis shoes and was drying them in the dryer.
You should of heard her scream when she opened the dryer. sad.gif

Sorry for your loss. We also lost a cat today. We had to put her to sleep this afternoon because her lungs were filling with fluid and would not stop. The doctor believed it was leukemia related. I am extermely torn up about it, as I was very close to this one. Her name was "Sugar" and it fit her perfectly.

Sorry to hear of your loss.... there's probably a cat heaven, near mouse heaven but definitely away from doggy heaven....

Rob, that's one of the funniest things I've heard.

thanks clap.gif

Sorry KT, it's hard losing someone so innocent & true to you.

I look back at all the buddies I've lost & think how lucky I was to have been so loved.

It's a short time by comparison to our lives but we know this & make that choice..... It'll only get better......

I'm so sorry to hear about you and Tara's loss. sad.gif Definitely look into your neighbor's kittens. It sucks to say this, but a new one does help ease the pain of losing an old friend. Plus it'll be good companionship for your other kitty. wub.gif

I am more of a dog guy, if my Sapphie was gone I would be really sad!
Take care, man!

Sorry to hear about the cat....name the next one after me as he will be soooooo coooollll.....

And SKLINE......bite me..... flipa.gif

We lose a cat a year as we are up against a 100 acre open space....coyotes and hawks....I try not to get close to them as they usually last only a year even when careful about letting out at night.....

Trekkor,

Sorry about your loss. We have two cats and a dog, and they are all wonderful. The one cat (LJ) and the dog get along really well. In fact, they clean each other... It's pretty amusing!!!

Here they are together...

And the other one, Jonah, doesn't like the dog that much... But, they "tolerate" each other...

Here he is (helping with a room remodel):

We are all sorry to hear about the loss - they are tough to loose. But, that is the circle of life, I know there are more out there that need a nice warm home and a loving owner!!!!

Sorry Trekkor and Foxman...

Honor the memory of your friend by finding a new kitten at the pound, and save it from a terrible fate.

P.S. I'm allergic to cats, too.. but Allegra is wonderful.

Thanks, all, for your cheering up smile.gif

I'll be OK, of course.
I was a bit sad this morning. Thought about reaching down out of bed to scruff the top of Zia's head.

It's easy to imagine the cat walking around doing it's routine.

Each beast has their own way about them.
I look foward to our next "Z" cat.

The poor thing. We had a cat that lost its use of its back legs too. It had been hit by a car and was paralized in the back legs. But my dad, being who he is, didn't pay a vet to take care of business, he did it himself. That was a horrible day. sad.gif

sorry to hear about your loss...I understand how you feel, my wife and I have two cats that we call our children (we dont have any kids)...not too long ago we lost a 2 year old cat that passed away suddenly (I came home to find her at the foot of our bed) and we were crushed. It sounds like you really loved your cat, and I am sure she loved you. When you think of her try to remember the good times you had together, and that you made her stay on earth very happy. As I am typing my son Freckles is sitting on my lap purring, and occasionally rubbing his head on my arm, and also lightly biting on it. He is pretty mushy...hang in there.

I'm sooooo sorry. sad2.gif

I can share your feeling with you. I lost 3 cats within 6 months. It took me months to recover. I still think of them almost daily.

I've been taking care of the kitty you see in my avatar since it was 3 days old! What an experience that has been. I am so attached. wub.gif I love cats!

I hope your other cat will provide more comfort for you.

Bummer man. This really hits home. When I got back from Colorado my 13YO cat Shuko was pretty sick and stopped eating. The vet couldn't find anything wrong but he finally started eating again (and keeping it down) yesterday. Freaked me out.

Trekkor - so sorry to hear about your cat. We have three, one 12 YO and a pair of 2YO's. Wife couldn't resist the "twin" kittens at the SPCA since we have twins boys as well. Poor wife, the house is full of testosterone with me, the 3 boys and 3 male cats. The 12YO is my buddy. Talks constantly!

One of us here has to take their cat for a ride in their 914. I've seen pics of motorcyclists having their dog or cat along for a ride. However, the poor cat might have to be deaf to stay put. Who's got a photo of their cat riding along in the teener?

Posted by: bd1308 Apr 15 2005, 12:16 PM

i dont have photos but i took my cat for a ride....last time he went for a ride he peed in my mom's Jag....but he was fine in my car biggrin.gif
