I rebuilt my rear calipers, and they came out sweet, but the pad pins and retainer springs look like crap. I surfed around but can't seem to find them anywhere...is there a source for these I missed?

Look like crap? Who cares...they gonna be covered with brake dust inside of two minutes....

Mid America has them, but they are not cheap.
Sorry, looks like 70-72 only.

Hmmm...oh, yeah...there they are. slap.gif

I must have looked at the PP index 6 times and still missed "REAR CALIPER PAD RETAINING SPRINGS". Still looking for the pins, and $39 - $49 bucks for 4 pins and 2 spring clips is friggin' robbery, I'll lathe my own out at work before I pay that.

Thanks Yoei66 wink.gif

"Z" - I agree that they'll never be seen, but these are half rusted away (pins), and the spring is looking kind of brittle from the rust and Ospho bath, don't know that I trust them. dry.gif Not to mention that I'm completely "8-up screwy.gif " about stupid details that no one will ever see [POR'ing the "inside" of the rear suspension arms....and I mean like dumping a half of a can of POR into the drain hole, and rolling the suspension arm around until "everything" was coated screwy.gif smoke.gif screwy.gif ], but there sure as hell won't be any rustin' going on in there (corrosiphobic) poke.gif

Speaking of POR coatings....I have found the perfect way to reseal the small POR cans after you've opened them. The saran wrap method is a PITA, and not very effective, #18 Capplugs (shown) fit perfect, are tapered which creates a suction inside the can (burps like tupperware), POR won't stick to them (reusable), and the best part...they're free (throw-aways from work). Anybody want one (two or three)? Give me a holler.

Did you try GPR? I have found that GPR prices are usually the best.

Yeah Doug, I went to there site [bookmarked], but didn't find a hardware kit, or any reference to the springs and pins. It's probably one of those items I'd have to email them about to know if they carry it for sure. Thinking of PM'ing Eric Shea to see where he gets his rebuild parts.

Now that is helpful!

For once, a part that doesn't have to be "shipped" to me. mueba.gif

I wouldn't worry to o much about the pins. Another lister (I think CptnTripps) put them in a drill and used sandpaper.

Pelican has the springs for $5.00 (IIR) Regardless what others say, I would get new springs. Those things rust like crazy and for a total of $10 clams you can be sure your pads aren't riding on your rotor.

I agree on the springs Eric, they were looking pretty brittle. Ended up getting the "14.99" kit that Welby turned me onto.......brand new pins and springs.....and no shipping!! smilie_pokal.gif
