914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Yes or no

As much as I like watching paint dry, I stepped away from that for a bit to grab something from the garage. I stumbled across a couple LED strips from a defunct Robern med cabinet and got to thinking...

I'd run them on the running light circuit. They put out a decent amount of light.

What say ye?

Neat idea, but it just looks out of place, I think.

You're the only one that has to like it.

Not so fast, if yours is a concourse entity, then no, but for all guys who appreciate some new technology upgrades I like them.

The concours guys are not putting led's on their cars and asking for opinions. But if they want to, so be it. It's their car.

They might be a bit low there to help much with your visibility.

BTW - I like your body color treatment of the BUB there. It takes away the big black lump hex of color 914s (black 914s just blend in nicely with the BUB).

Need to see a pic of them integrated into the grill.

Posted by: flmont Oct 22 2016, 03:05 PM

I would like to see a distance picture,..but Iam leaning to yes...FM.

Posted by: Mikey914 Oct 22 2016, 03:08 PM

Why not. You can easily take off if you don't like later.

BUBs? Do you mean tits? - No, those aren't body color. confused24.gif When I hear BUBs (or BBBB) I think of the 75-76 bigass heavy pigs. Please edumacate me if I'm wrong.

Anyway... Looks like a pretty cool and stealthy way to add some light.

Those aren't BUBs, they're the stock-type body colored metal bumpers from a 70-72 914. They do, however, have the smaller "bumper tits" that were used on the 75-76 BUB-equipped cars, so I can see how you got that impression.

no thanks

Posted by: tomh Oct 24 2016, 08:32 AM

if you want bling like that buy a new car!

Posted by: Olympic 1.7 Oct 24 2016, 09:39 AM

I like it..

I have been thinking of EXACTLY this for my car sometime in the future.

I won't be running the fog lights though. I'll just put them in the non-fog grills.

Anyone do this?
Any pics?

Posted by: mbseto Oct 24 2016, 10:07 AM

This would be a stealthy way to add fogs to the grills with no fog lights at all.
