914World.com _ 914World Garage _ transmission filler

Thought I would share this with you.

I made a transmission filler last night because when replacing the clutch in my gti I felt new gear oil was in order.

After refilling many 914 transmissions over the years I know what a pain it is.

Here is what I did

using one gallon plastic garden sprayer

Attached Image

I cut the nozzle a couple inches from the handle and attached about 6 inches of silicone hose with a small band clamp.

(got it off my old hand oil pump line.

then I put the gear oil in and pumped it up.

duct taped the trigger open and let it fill up..

worked great.

Now THAT is really good! And no wonder your tranny and axles are so clean too.

Is that an electronic speedo setup?

so the idea behind the one I made was, put 2.5 quarts of gear oil in the container, pump it up, lock the trigger and eat dinner, when dinner is done, the trans is full.

I do similar funnel idea, except with a slightly longer tube and run it out through the right rear wheel well just behind the tire.
