Posted by: 396 Nov 1 2016, 06:36 PM

I'm looking for recommendations for a quality paint shop in the greater LA area.

Need actual experience if possible and no, I'm not looking forward to paying 10 - 15 k for a paint job...as its for a DD.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I am also interested. Need to color match and paint my doors.

I haven't had much success finding one either.

-----Looking for that concours/restoration or just a paint job I possibly could be your man, I have over 25 yrs experience in auto painting and restoration. I have painted many cars for the stars in my lifetime along with getting most elegant( best paint ) at pebble beach multiple times. I love to work on Vw,s and Porsches as they have always been my fancy. I consider myself to be an artist when I'm prepping these cars as all my jobs get blocked with balsa wood and end up razor straight(painting is just the icing on the cake as taught to me by the king of all painting Larry Watson). After multiple thin coats of paint using a refrigerated dryer as I paint for a super clean job, I then block the paint down using 1000 grit then 1500 grit wet then polish to show . I have a complete portfolio of all work done along with references, plus multiple projects I can show in person. I also love to restore parts any part steering wheels engine parts etc etc.. I have low overhead and offer great pricing, I give free estimates and can come to you, or you can come to me .

Someone has posted a couple of times about a shop in Tijuana, Mexico that does good work.

All, thanks for the few leads. I've pm seareef228 and is waiting for a response . As for taking the car south of the border - thanks but not feeling warm about walking away from my ride there.

I called Sterling in Tustin,as they repaint the hood a few years ago...due to clear coat concerns.
Their comment on a whole paint job "starts" at $15k...
Way too much, considering that the loaner - A4 2016 from Rusnak Audi I had for service , msrp at $34k....a few $ more and I can get a new 2016 A4 S4..

Guy's keep those recommendations coming- thanks
